    Jay H. is my first ex-Mormon guest on the podcast and I was so excited to chat with her. We not only have shared experiences in purity culture but also other unique experiences that not a whole lot of people understand. We also try to answer the following questions: Are there automatically daddy issues going on when a girl crushes on Tom Selleck or could mustaches just be aesthetically appealing? How fun is it to get the sex talk from your mom with your stepdad in the room? And finally, what do you do when your boyfriend gets sent to juvie for doing the horrible crime of having sex before marriage ?

    Whitney is a nice non-binary human being who agrees to be on my podcast. She said it was ok for me to use feminine pronouns today and also she has some shit to say about purity culture. We talk about fun things like moms critiquing our bodies and being self-conscious, being in love with your best friend at summer camp and not knowing it, and of course, creepy youth pastors.

    In this episode, we get really heavy into some comically unfortunate details about Adam and his ex-wife. Both Adam and his ex waited to have sex until they were married like good Christian virgins, but it didn’t turn out like youth pastors led them to believe. There were no sunshine, rainbows, or orgasms in this holy matrimony. We delve even deeper into his struggles with purity and self-esteem, his disastrous wedding night, his incompetent marriage counselor, as we try to answer the question: what kind of monster loses their virginity and commits adultery at the same time?

    Episode #2: “Redeeming Love” Movie Review with Emily Zell

    For the 2nd episode, I was originally slated to interview my fellow comedian Emily Zell, but as we started talking, we figured out that we had to go see “Redeeming Love” in theaters together and review it for the podcast. “Redeeming Love” is a 2022 movie directed by D.J. Caruso and based on the 1991 novel by the same name. Francine Rivers wrote both the original novel and the screenplay for the film. It stars Abigail Cowen, Tom Lewis, Nina Dobrev and Eric Dane.
