    In Conversation With... Professor John Marshall

    Professor John Marshall has spent the last 30 yearsexploring the Arctic, living and working in remote camps in extreme conditions. Through these expeditions, he has uncovered new evidence of some of the world’s first forests and four-legged animals, as well as a mass extinction event caused by an ultraviolet burst in the Earth’s atmosphere. In the New Year’s Honours List, John was awarded The PolarMedal – a recognition of his outstanding achievements in polar research. In this podcast, we chat to John to find out more about his research – and what it’s really like living and working out in the Arctic.
