Judge Sachs has had a long and distinguished career, first practicing in the early 1950s where he clerked for the Hon. Albert Ridge of the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Missouri, and helped write the decision that ordered the integration of the Swope Park Pool. After a long career in private practice, he was nominated by President Jimmy Carter in 1979 to serve as a district judge in the Western District of Missouri. Judge Sachs discusses his early interest in the law, his time in World War II, his long career and offers thoughts on some current issues in the Supreme Court.
