    Magnet is about everyday nursing excellence

    IU Health Methodist/University hospitals have achieved five Magnet designations, which is a truly incredible accomplishment. This was not achieved by accident. It's a direct result of team members' commitment to nursing excellence, each and every day. To speak more about Magnet, dispel some common misconceptions, and share some examples of this everyday nursing excellence at our hospitals, I've invited two clinical nurses to join me for this video: Denise Kerley, a nurse on MICU, and Mitch Kasznia, a nurse on 5N.     CNO Conversations: The unique role of a forensic nurse

    Natalie Calow is the Forensic Coordinator at the Center of Hope in the IU Health Methodist Hospital Emergency Department. In this episode, Natalie explains her unique role serving patients who are victims of crimes, such as physical assault, sexual assault or workplace violence incidents. Natalie’s team also has a legal background, and these nurses often testify in court. Natalie also discussed wellness resources that are available at IU Health, such as counseling through the Employee Assistance Program (EAP), and chaplaincy resources.
