This is a superb podcast
I finished the latest episode on “How Does The US Government Get Detained Americans Home?” on my run this morning. Peter and his team pack so much into each of their podcast episodes. It’s honestly one of the best produced and informative podcasts minute for minute out there. Thorough deep dive into a topic, but less than an hour and often less than 45 minutes. Doesn’t take long to listen but you leave feeling like you’ve watched a “Frontline” episode on each topic.
Quickly my favorite podcast
The weekly episode put together by veteran national security journalist and author Peter Bergen and his team is always informative and engaging. I haven’t missed one since I learned about this show last year. Peter draws on decades of experience and interviews a wide range of experts to go beyond the headlines on any given issue. He also has a knack for profiling conspiracy theorists across the political spectrum. If you missed them, I highly recommend going back and listening to the episodes Peter did on Mike Flynn, along with his interview with RFK Jr. Nonpartisan and even-handed, I never miss an opportunity to recommend this podcast to friends.
I can listen to news again
Superb news podcast for those who are tired of the doom scrolling and never ending breaking news cycle. A way to get the news without sensationalism and constant “the world is ending” rhetoric. Calm, deep, thoughtful analysis. 60 Minutes for your ears. If you were giving up on news, this is the show for you.
