    A Holistic Facial Experience Promoting Healing From The Inside Out

    On this episode, I talk with Colette Wirth about how her approach to facials is a lot deeper than the traditional way by addressing what’s happening under the skin and not just the skin itself. More about Colette: Having worked in the corporate world in international accounting prior to having my daughter I realized that I wanted to always be working but after having children I wanted to be available to them and not working 60 plus hrs a week. After my daughter turned 1  I started my own business of watching kids after school and during the summertime in my home and I had this business for 6 yrs until a divorce had me looking at different paths to be able to provide for my daughter. At the encouragement of my nail technician and good friend  I decided to look into a career path in the beauty industry, In school I decided to focus on facials as I realized that I could heal people with touch and I really enjoyed the science background of investigating the clients skin history, concerns and being able to tailor a facial routine customized to each persons individual needs. This on my part meant I spent alot of time researching ingredients, making myself familiar with skin types and different modalities that you can use to help your skin get to your goals faster. I opened OliviaColette Esthetics in Feb 2021. Having had major wrist surgery just months before I opened I  decided to focus on one modality that would be beneficial to my clients and allow my wrist to heal fully, that modality is LED light therapy and I  Iiterally built my clientelle based on  this modality for 6 months until my wrist healed. During this time I was also struggling with underlying health issues and required another surgery and during my time of healing from the stress of divorce,single parenting and my now new body I decided to take matters in my own hands and seek out more holistic and functional medicine providers who helped me to start my journey of starting to think, act and be more mindful of how i was treating my body. It was during this time that I started to notice that my skin was changing and was more sensitive to products and modalities that I could use, not only was my inside not healthy my skin was now responding to the stress I had been through and it was embarresing as my clients were coming to me to make them look better. After a few weeks I started to experement, I was reading constantly on how stress,life, pollutions,food, basically everything could affect your skin. Eventually around September 2022 I decided to really focus on helping my clients to take notice of what they were doing internally was showing up on the outside and brought in non invasive modalities to help them to heal their skin. By me doing this I have a good portion of my clientelle base that deal with autoimmune issues, skin sensitivities and am giving them hope that they too can get their skin healthy and at a place that they are more confident in their skin so to speak! I always remember to meet people right where they are and to remember the majority of my clients don't have a lot of time, money or energy to invest in themselves on a regular basis. I have noticed how important a peaceful hour once a month is a gamechanger and it resets you to be able to go back out in the world to be a better, stronger and more confident version of yourself. It is going on 3 yrs now that I opened in Mckinney and I am forever blessed by God and have allowed him to be the captain of this ship. It is amazing what we can do when we just lean on him to be our energy, our provider and healer.
