You Aren't Failing in Life. You're Just Chasing a Fantasy.

Do you constantly feel like you're failing or falling behind in life? You might not be failing at all—you might just be comparing yourself to a "fantasy self" that doesn't actually exist. In this week's Inner Systems episode, we are diving deep into the psychology of the "fantasy self." When we feel lost, it's so easy to build an idealized, perfect version of ourselves: the one who wakes up at 5 AM, has a spotless apartment, and never skips a workout. While Pinterest boards and aspirational habits can be fun, using them to dissociate from reality can leave us feeling paralyzed, deeply insecure, and stuck in a cycle of procrastination.Today, we are talking about how to stop fighting your natural wiring and start building realistic, frictionless systems that actually work for you. I walk through taking a realistic lifestyle audit, accepting who you currently are, and how to gently grieve and release the fantasy future that was never yours to begin with.If you are in your 20s or 30s and want to genuinely rebuild your life with optimism, self-acceptance, and realistic strategies, this video is for you.👇 Let’s chat in the comments: What is ONE trait of your fantasy self that you are officially letting go of today? If You're Starting Over in Your 30s, Listen To This

Hi, I'm Mo, and I feel behind in life. It took me a while to admit that to myself, but once I did it was freeing. At 34, I found myself restarting again after a car accident, family dynamic changed, a long-term breakup, failed plans, and a future that wasn't lining up with the one I imagined when I was younger. In this video, I share why I finally let go of the timeline I thought my life was supposed to follow and the psychology behind why so many women feel like they're running out of time.I get through tough times by researching, so in my own effort to understand this feeling I put together this episode that explores:• Feeling behind in your 30s• Starting over after a breakup• Reinventing yourself in adulthood• The myth of the traditional life timeline• The sunk cost fallacy• Why restarting is often a sign of growth, not failure• How to stop comparing your life to everyone else's• Building confidence during major life transitionsIf you're navigating a career change, healing from a breakup, moving to a new city, or simply questioning where your life is headed, this video is for you.Timestamps:00:00 Feeling behind at 3401:45 The timeline I thought I'd follow04:20 Where the life timeline comes from08:10 Why starting over feels so scary11:35 The sunk cost fallacy14:25 Why everyone feels behind17:10 How to stop feeling behind in life20:30 Creating a new path forwardSubscribe for videos on confidence, personal growth, psychology, life transitions, and building a meaningful life on your own terms!Instagram: @morganonsocial

How to rebuild your confidence (my 7 step framework)

About a year ago I realized my confidence had hit an all-time low. It was the first time in my life that I'd really felt a dip in my confidence and I knew I needed to do something about it. Over the past year, I introduced 7 habits into my daily life that not only rebuilt my confidence, but improved it! Today I'm sharing those with you. The best part about confidence is that it isn't only innate. There are 5 factors that make up confidence, and 2 of these can be worked on at any point in our lives. That means that if you're feeling insecure, a bit shaken, or just want to polish up what you have - it's totally possible. This 7 step confidence framework can be done by anyone, and goes beyond basic "fake it until you make it" talk. This is real stuff, like leaning into discomfort, learning how to speak up, building your trust in yourself, keeping promises, working on your physical health, becoming well-spoken, and more. I also talk about: - Social anxiety and comparison in the age of phones/social media - Solo dates, classes, and trying new things alone - Public speaking and communication skills - Learning to handle conflict better - Why confidence often grows quietly before you fully notice it One of the biggest mindset shifts for me was realizing: Courage comes first. Confidence comes after. Timestamps:00:10 My story with confidence 02:20 What creates confidence (5 factors) and when to use courage instead 08:20 The 7 things that improve confidence 09:55 The importance of keeping promises to yourself 13:00 Improving a skill (what type to choose) 18:13 Why you need to make yourself uncomfortable26:40 Improving your physical health and seeing goals through 36:00 Building evidence 37:40 What improving your confidence actually looks and feels like (what to watch for) Be sure to like this video, subscribe if you haven't, and drop a comment about which confidence building tip you're going to try first!
