This week pour yourself a pint of Victoria Bitter and join us in welcoming back the CEO of Aussie Pub Rock: Craig Elvin! This time he’s with us live on American soil, so we decided to play a special version of the drinking game we call, “WILD CARD”! Robert and Craig go head-to-head in a game where they try to get points by naming the obscure band that is being played. Of course, we made it more interesting by adding an Aussie twist. This is a heated 10-song battle, so you can only imagine the state our players were in by the end!

This week the lads hop across the pond to do some more excavation of denim and leather… Iron Maiden, Def Leppard, Saxon, Judas Priest are not on this episode, however, the one and only: Tony Griggs is! The NWOBM movement was filled with passionate bands from Great Britain that were poised to take over the world in the early 80s. Tony is a big fan of these groups and we are happy to have him on board to help spread the word and sounds for those bands that didn’t quite make it to the mainstream.

This week is all about bands playing a famous singer–songwriter’s songs better than he ever did… This is a particular phenomenon known as, “The Dylan Factor”. In this episode, we showcase songs by old Bobby Dylan that sound better than the versions he recorded. Some will say that’s not a hard feat, but none can deny the powerful songwriting and auspicious lyrics of Dylan.

This week we give Cap’n Content a break as Kevin throws Robert for loop by digging into the world of the Japanese Girls Metal Band boom that has been gaining momentum worldwide since 2010. This episode tests Robert’s endurance as he listens to music slightly outside of his wheelhouse with the quick tempos and technical ecstasy that is Japanese Metal! This week we offer up the 12th installment of our series called, “Degrees Of Separation…” where we discuss side projects and solo releases from artists we love. We are celebrating the adjacencies to a true rock n’ roll icon: ALICE COOPER. Not much to say about the man, the myth, the legend. Capn’n Content suggested that we focus our listening to the gunslinger guitarists that have supported the Coop throughout his long career. So, that’s what we are doing! Enjoy.
