19: We all know what assuming does
Yeah, assuming is typically NOT something we recommend. However, there is a way to do it, and do it well. When we assume positive intent or even neutral intent, it has a magical impact on relationship building. It fosters seeing humans as desiring good outcomes, and therefore facilitates making better outcomes a reality.

18: The necessity of unlearning
We are big fans of both higher education and continuing education. But we have also been around long enough to know that not everything taught, is worthy of retaining or practicing. Unpacking knowledge and running an inventory of what is valuable and should be packed up and carried into one's career is a worthwhile, intentional process.

17: Pull up a chair - using Gestalt therapy in the workplace to foster empathy
Gestalt therapy has long been used in the mental health field to help clients with perspective taking and leaning into the 'here and now'. Based on the idea that "the whole is greater than the sum of its parts", Tianna and Tara offer creative ideas for how to incorporate this beautiful work into the workplace. Increasing awareness, practicing mindfulness as part of self-care and client care, and practicing empathy are all elements featured in this episode with special attention given to the classic "empty chair technique".

15: A new perspective on "out of left field"
Unexpected, surprising, strange, and unconventional are all words used to describe a comment that comes from left field. Tianna and Tara propose how these sometimes random comments can be incredible building blocks for fostering trust and enhancing safety in relationships - both in and out of the therapy room.

Tianna and Tara explore the important differences between reacting and responding. In the context of healthy work relationships, ideas are explored about how to improve responsiveness (practice the pause). The notion of getting "tangled" is presented.
