    Ep. 1: WWASP...a History

    Join us in The Program this week to unpack the sordid and child abuse laden history of WWASP, or the World Wide Association of Specialty Programs. WWASP was an umbrella organization that ran a plethora of specialty programs throughout the world, but headquartered in Utah. These programs masqueraded as a last ditch resort for parents with unruly teenagers. The schools promised to whip their kids into shape...but instead subjected these children to abuse, neglect, and violated their most basic human rights. These are their stories.     Ep. 6: Anonymous Survivor - Spring Creek Lodge & Liahona Academy

    In Episode 6, our anonymous guest recounts his experience of being sent to the WWASP facility Spring Creek Lodge in his early teens. Only 2 months later, he would then be transported to a similar program, the Liahona School….while having a bad trip on acid. After graduating from this program, he would be sent back yet again, where he would witness the neglect of a student who died while in the care of Liahona.     Ep. 8: Kristi - Escaping the Family Foundation School

    Kristi, a survivor of RedCliff Ascent and the Family Foundation School, shares with us one of the most incredible stories yet. After enduring abuse in the home, and being made to believe that she was a full blown addict after only experimenting with weed, Kristi was sent to a wilderness program, but the 63 days she spent surviving off the land in Utah would not prepare her for the horrors she would experience at the Family Foundation School.     Mirina Bourbonnais, a survivor of three WWASP programs shares her perilous fight, literal and figurative, to survive the abuse she experienced before, during, and after the program. Trusting only herself, Mirina learned at a young age that people were dangerous, which would only be reaffirmed after being restrained countless times, shattering her foot, and surviving literal torture during her confinement at Casa by the Sea, High Impact, and Tranquility Bay. Ultimately, her deep desire to find wholeness, healing, and happiness would push her through unimaginable torment and lead her to her greatest peace.
