    God Our Guiding Light

Today’s reflection Our Guiding Light Are you at a crossroads in life?  Are you wondering what your next move will be?  Are you seeking guidance on which direction you should go?  In Life sometimes we may encounter delays, detours and disappointments and we may wonder am I on the right road or which path should I take.    No matter what may have occurred or happened in your life, know that you can look forward to brighter days when your hope and trust is in the Lord. Psalm 119:105 says that the word of God is a lamp onto our feet and a light unto our path. During the time we walk through a period time of uncertainty, it may seem dark, but there is a guiding light for us when we reach out to God.  Seek God in prayer and speak to him plainly.  God cares for you, and he understands.  You can let him know yes, Lord, I need you to guide me.  Speak to my heart on the next steps to take.  Know that God hears you.  Your part is to listen to his word.  He speaks to us in a still, small voice.  When he speaks, his words give us peace.  Know that our walk of faith is one that requires us to take one step at a time, looking unto God to direct us.   What is behind us has already passed.  To move through the storms of life, we must look forward to the plans and destiny that God has for us.  Know that the detour may just be God redirecting you to the destiny that he has for you!  In our modern world, when we are traveling by car, we may use a GPS to guide us to a destination.  If we miss a turn or exit, the GPS creates another path to get us to our destination.   During times of uncertainty, we must stay in faith.  Scripture states in 2 Corinthians 5:7 that we must live by faith, not by sight.”  Again, to live by faith is to trust God – to have confidence in God. He will light your way and guide you along your life’s path, and the road will unfold to amazing destinations and journeys on the way to the destiny that God has for you.  Remember, God is our guiding light.

    Love One Another

Today’s reflection Love One Another! “No one is born hating another person.” The scripture says in Matthew 5:43-45 “You have heard that it was said, ‘Love your neighbor[a] and hate your enemy.’ 44 But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, 45 that you may be children of your Father in heaven. 1 John 4:8 also says Anyone who does not love does not know God because God is love. When God created the world, he created many beautiful things around us.  Beautiful things can be seen in all of God’s creation.  We are all a part of God’s beautiful creation.  We may look different. We may dress differently. We may eat different foods.  We may have different ways of living.  But we are all a part of God’s beautiful creation.  In societies close to us and those that are far from us, in our homes, in our neighborhoods, in our workplaces, we should have respect and love for one another. I Corinthians 13:4-5 Love is patient. Love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.  When you feel love, you feel happiness, you feel joy. The sun shines on the whole world when you have love in your heart.  Love only sees good.  Love only sees the positive in others.   Remember the instructions of the Lord in John 13:34-35 A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. By this, all people will know that you are my disciples if you have love for one another.”

    Choose To Forgive

Today’s reflection: Choose to Forgive! Have you faced disappointments in Life?  Know that you are not alone.  Have you felt hurt or abandoned?  Know that you are not alone. Has a family member, a friend, or a work colleague hurt you?  These are all matters that have been faced by many in their walk of Life.  Life can have its ups and downs. In Life, we may have felt offended, hurt, or wronged by another, or perhaps we may have even been the offender that offended, hurt, or wronged someone else.  But God calls us to forgive.  Sometimes, that forgiveness requires us to forgive the other person and to forgive ourselves. It has been said that forgiveness is a process. Indeed, Forgiveness is a choice you must make.  When you forgive, you release yourself from the chains of unforgiveness and hurt. Most important to note is that when we forgive, we are following God’s commandments.   Mark 11:25 says, “Whenever you stand praying if you have anything against anyone, forgive him, that your Father in heaven may also forgive you your trespasses.” And Matthew 6:14-15 also states For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. 15 But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins. Former South African President Nelson Mandela has some amazing quotes on unforgiveness, here is what he shared: “Forgiveness liberates the soul, it removes fear. That’s why it’s such a powerful weapon.”   Once again, Matthew 6:15 says, “But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.”     Make the Choice today to Forgive.
