#065: Why Giving $5 Can Make A Difference with Andi Thieman

There are SO many psychological and physiological benefits  that are associated with generosity. I think ultimately, giving allows us to feel like we are a part of something much bigger than ourselves. And that's a powerful feeling.

Today, I have Andi Thieman, founder of Penny Loafer joining us to discuss why giving is important, what stands in the way of so many people actually being able to give, and how Penny Loafer helps make giving doable.

#064: How To Handle Impulse Spending With Credit Cards

#064: How To Handle Impulse Spending With Credit Cards

I'm going to be 100% honest here: I, Allison Baggerly, owner of a budget and personal finance company, have issues with overspending on my credit card!
It's very easy for me to just swipe, swipe, swipe until it's time for me to face my balance. And then I sit there thinking, "What did I do? How much money did I spend? How did I let it get out of hand?"
On top of that, when I start impulse spending on credit cards, I actually start to crave spending money even more! I can feel it in my body, I can feel it in my system. I want to spend the money. It's like a drug!

Maybe you can relate or maybe you're in the thick of the swipe cycle right now. If so, then I want you to know you're not alone. I've been there. AND there is hope! Although I do struggle with this, it doesn't happen often anymore. Why? I began to implement 2 easy action steps that help break me out of my impulse spending cycle, and today on the podcast, I'm going to be sharing those with you!

#062: How We Travel Hacked Our Family Vacation

#062: How We Travel Hacked Our Family Vacation

Last month, our family returned from an 8-night vacation in Canada where we hiked up majestic mountains, skipped rocks in gorgeous glacier fed lakes, experienced orcas in their element, and encountered six bears. This family trip had been in the works for almost an entire year. And when we started planning this vacation, our goal was simple: we wanted to travel hack as much of it as we possibly could. And that's exactly what we did! In fact, on this trip, we travel hacked flights for all four of us, a five-night car rental, and even part of our accommodations.
Today I'm going to be sharing with you how we did it and the steps you can take to take your own dream vacation, whether you're just getting started with travel hacking or you've been doing it for a while.
And in case you're wondering, yes, we're already planning our vacation for next summer! We're already stages of researching the signup bonuses for different credit cards, deciding what credit card we want to sign up for, and where we'd love to go so that we can travel hack another big family vacation next year!
