    ITG #22 - Positive Thinking

    ITG #22 - Positive Thinking

    Hello everyone, welcome to Inspired To Greatness… Today we are talking about POSITIVE THINKING and MINDSET! Having a positive mindset is one of the best things you can do to ensure your success and, more importantly, your level of happiness and contentment with your life.

    “A man sees in the world what he carries in his heart.” –Johann Wolfgang von Goethe

    “Don’t be pushed around by the fears in your mind. Be led by the dreams in your heart.” ― Roy T. Bennett

    “Once you replace negative thoughts with positive ones, you’ll start having positive results.” – Willie Nelson

    Business Tip:

    Create a positive work environment… turn off the news, stay off Facebook, turn on some good, high energy, uplifting music, create a gratitude journal… actually write down the good from each day! Be around positive and uplifting people, smile, and spread some happiness. It will keep the space around you positive and full of good energy.

    Headspace - https://www.headspace.com/headspace-meditation-app

    Headspace was developed by a British man named Andy Puddicombe, a former Buddhist monk who left the Himalayan monastery where he was ordained, to study with the Moscow State Circus, before returning to London to finish his degree in Circus Arts at the comparatively mundane sounding Conservatoire of Dance and Drama. Yes, that’s all true. During that time, he had the idea to take his mindfulness training and figure out how to secularize it and make it accessible to people like me and you.

    ITG #21 - Time Management

    ITG #21 - Time Management

    Hello everyone, welcome to Inspired To Greatness… Today we have a great show all about Time Management, and we are joined by wonderful folks, Dana and David Hagstrom. They tell us their story and we chat about how they are helping online businesses, how to plan for retirement, and what a spider taco might be like!

    If you want to make good use of your time, you’ve got to know what’s most important and then give it all you’ve got.
    Lee Iacocca

    Time is money.

    Benjamin Franklin

    -It’s interesting to me that I’ve used this quote so often, as millions of other people do, I’m sure, and never knew it was a Benjamin Franklin quote. And I also thought about how Time is like money as I was show prepping… what’s interesting to me is not the ways that time is LIKE money (you can spend it or trade it)… but the main difference. Money you can lose or gain… I can always go out and make more money; but time… once it’s gone, it’s gone. And we spend so much time chasing money, that I think people really have lost the value of time.

    The great dividing line between success and failure can be expressed in five words: “I did not have time.”

Franklin Field

    — Understanding the value of time and the importance of priorities is vital for the success of any person or business. If you don’t know how valuable time is you will waste it; and if you don’t have a set of priorities you won’t know how to spend the time you have.

    We are only given a finite amount of time in this life. You get to decide, for the most part, how you spend that time. Each day you decide what you are trading that time for… and when that day is over it’s gone, all the only thing left in it’s place is what you traded that day for. Make sure you trade your days for something worthwhile.

    ITG #20 - Emotional Intelligence

    ITG #20 - Emotional Intelligence

    Hey Everyone, I am VERY excited about this episode; which is the start of a 6 episode series. But FIRST: I want to apologize for a few little audio issues in the show, we are recording remotely, due to Covid-19, and the internet was not holding up its end of things today... it's not much, and it's only a few little spots, but I do apologize for the issues.

    Emotional Intelligence:
    the capacity to be aware of, control, and express one's emotions, and to handle interpersonal relationships judiciously and empathetically.

    According to Daniel Goleman , an American psychologist who helped to popularize emotional intelligence, there are five key elements to it:
    * Self-awareness.
    * Self-regulation.
    * Motivation.
    * Empathy.
    * Social skills.

    In this episode we will take a look at emotional intelligence overall... on the next 5 shows, we will discuss each of the 5 elements of Emotional Intelligence!

    “Use pain as a stepping stone, not a campground.” —- Alan Cohen

    “Whatever is begun in anger, ends in shame.” —- Benjamin Franklin

    “We are dangerous when we are not conscious of our responsibility for how we behave, think, and feel.” -— Marshall B. Rosenberg

    “When dealing with people, remember you are not dealing with creatures of logic, but with creatures of emotion.” -Dale Carnegie

    “Some people think only intellect counts: knowing how to solve problems, knowing how to get by, knowing how to identify an advantage and seize it. But the functions of intellect are insufficient without courage, love, friendship, compassion, and empathy.” -Dean Koontz

    A leader is a dealer in hope. -Napoleon Bonaparte

    Emotional intelligence trumps IQ all the time... you can learn skills and learn how to use tools... but it’s vastly more difficult to learn how to not be a jerk. In decades past it was the alpha male, they type a personality, the ultra-aggressive people that were successful... that’s just how it was, but in today’s society, having empathy, caring about others and their well being is what wins.

    “Self-worth comes from one thing – thinking that you are worthy.” – Wayne Dyer

    Until you know your worth you’ll continue to seek other people’s approval just to feel good about yourself.” – Sonya Parker

    Knowing your worth is about recognizing your purpose and your gifts and knowing that you bring value to this world, that your talents and attributes are completely unique, you are the only one who can be you, and you are worth exactly what you decide you are worth.

    ITG #18 - Hard Work

    Welcome to Inspired to Greatness, we are all about Inspiration, Motivation, and being Great!

    Today we are talking about HARD WORK!

    Make a top 5 list:
    Make a list of 5 things that you WILL do every day. 5 things that will make you a better person, a better business owner, a better athlete, whatever you want to be… 5 things EVERY DAY. You don’t skip, you don’t put it off, you DO it!

    I know the price of success: dedication, hard work and an unremitting devotion to the things you want to see happen. ~ Frank Lloyd Wright, architect and writer

    Talent is cheaper than table salt. What separates the talented individual from the successful one is hard work. ~ Stephen King, American author

    It’s not about money or connection — it’s the willingness to outwork and outlearn everyone. ~ Mark Cuban, American investor

    Chop your own wood and it will warm you twice. ~ Henry Ford, American industrialist

    Hard work doesn’t just get you to success… hard work is also its own reward. There is a sense of pride in work completed. Imagine cleaning out your garage… that is often quite a job.  It’s hard, usually takes a while… but when it’s done you stand there smiling with your hands on your hips looking at your clean garage.  If you want to reach your defined level of success or build something worth building then you have to work hard… you have to work like you are trying to climb out of a bottomless pit like it’s life or death.
