Ep. 228: Comedy & Tragedy (Ft. Cameron Altman)

My guest is a powerful spiritual entity in human form & one of the kindest souls to join us in our humble Top Shelf Studios, please welcome the first guest to endure our new “hot” lights — Cameron Altman! How would I describe him?? Despite surviving a hellish adolescence fraught with abuse, his positive glimmer — the light he brings the world — continues to shine bright, casting his strong luminous beams of humanity onto anyone willing to hear his story.  Cameron is someone willing to go ‘All-In’ on himself.  Even if going ‘All-In’, once meant crashing out, driving 14 hours to sign up for Kill Tony in an arena, & being pulled from the bucket to follow comedy legend, Andrew Dice Clay.  He was booed off the stage by thousands.. Cameron was born legally blind, but could foresee his name getting pulled on NYE. I fivesee him continuing to find meaning in a sometimes seemingly meaningless world.  I’m grateful for getting to know him & for this hang. Cameron Altman is someone who inspires me to not give up.  You can follow him on Instagram @crosseyedcomic111 EATIN’ smoked chicken wings with Cam is uncut in its full glory for our supporters — Patreon.com/InTALLerable Only $2 and you will be supporting smoked meat put into the mouths of future guests. Ep. 226: Don’t Talk about “Austin” (Ft. Avery Dauer & Jacob Humphries)

My guests are both stand-up comedians, one returning, and one a new friend of the show.  Avery Dauer aka “Leaning Findance,” graces us for a satire-soaked conversation centered around Avery’s life, the state of comedy, and the rapid onslaught of the news & the world.  He is joined on the couch by our (at this point) old buddy, Jacob Humphries.   Follow Avery on Socials @AveryDauerComedy — Follow Jacob @ChrashCompactor Avery competes in the national Roast Battle League out of Los Angeles (NOT ATX!). He departed back to the bright lights of L.A. with a piece of our hearts and memento from Top Shelf Studios, our ‘Disabled Parking Only’ streetsign.  May it serve his future studio endeavors in whatever way he sees fit.  It’s his sign now.  We lost a microphone off the top, so that’s part of the delay on getting this out to everyone.  So, I had to learn a new skill to salvage the audio.  I guess that’s what failure gets ya. If you want to support the show like Avery & Jacob, while also getting access to the uncut episodes, EATIN’ with our guests, & more bonus content, join us at whatever tier that fits where you’re at in life over at Patreon.com/InTALLerable No timestamps on this one.  We were too hot on the mic (happens).. discussing everything from using the word ‘Retarded’, to how the greatest country on Earth, the United States of America, seems to be the only country not to care about lists when it comes to hurting innocent victims.  SAD & EMBARRASSING!! (as our President would tweet) Plus you know who is always listening. (ATX) FO & BW

Ep. 225: Earning Freedom (Ft. Mom & Kyle)

This episode is dedicated to all the teachers that told me I could amount to whatever I put my mind to.  To my high school teacher Mr. L, who told me to “use my powers for good,” instead of wasting my life becoming another lawyer or banker.  To everyone who implored: “Don’t Stop!” through our earliest episodes, or anybody who told me that whatever this ‘InTALLerable’ thing was — that I should not quit.  To those of you who refuse to quit: on yourself, on life; thanks for not letting me quit, either.   Two hundred twenty-five episodes of InTALLerable is a milestone, so I needed to have someone extra special as my guest.  Folks, I thought it might not happen, and honestly, it almost didn’t.  I am proud to tell you: we got ‘em.  My guests are people I will always look up to, no matter how tall I might grow, or where life might take me, joining us from the Rocky Mountains, please welcome to (not) Top Shelf Studios: my mom & my step-dad, Kyle!   Since we are not in-studio, there were some audio challenges to overcome with this one.  Thankfully, the techno-oligarchs keep giving me new tools.  Nobody expects this show to be perfect, they just expect it to be InTALLerable.  Hope you all enjoy it.   Tell someone that you love them today!! Ep. 224: My Line of Hobby (Ft. Braxton Fuller)

Our guest returns to Top Shelf Studios, ready to tell us more claustrophobic stories from his line of hobby: cave-maxing.  Braxton Fuller is the Editor in Chief of Rocky Mountain Caving, a non-profit quarterly journal of caves and caving. He is an MA Candidate at the University of Denver Korbel School of International Studies, the Editor at Large for Mooreposts.com — an international security journal, and one of the last people capturing the undisturbed beauty of caving on film photography.   Subscribe to Rocky Mountain Caving by emailing Braxton @ editor@rockymountaincaving.com The print edition is $35/Year (quarterly issues) and they have a digital edition for even less (but trust me, you will want to hold it in your hand & display it on your foyer table, so go for the print!)  Follow Braxton — @BraxtonAF on Instagram  We were joined for this episode by fill-in-production-extraordinaries, Jesse & Ashley, who seemed equally as flabbergasted by Braxton’s tales of the underworld.  From encapsulated Gypsum lightning (perhaps) forming helictites, to Mike Frazier’s immeasurable impact on the caving community & on Braxton’s passion, we mine around a deep philosophical question: Why do we dig?  Of course we cover the SpeleOlympics & wonder how the heck a lady managed to set the record for fitting through the “Squeeze-box” (only five inches!?!). We learn that there is an elite force of ‘Cave-superheros’ (NCRC) on call 24/7, ready to respond & rescue people that are stuck or injured in caves worldwide.  The NCRC has saved lives, including perhaps their most miraculous story: Mark Dickey’s rescue after developing appendicitis nine days into an expedition caving endeavor in Turkey.  Patreon.com/InTALLerable for EATIN’ with our guests — only $2/month helps keep our show ad-free and unbeholden to who or what we can talk about at TSS.  You get each episode, uncut, in its full glory, as well as older “vaulted” episodes, and other bonus goodies.  Join now & get your hands on some of our new hand-made InTALLerable merch! Ep. 223: Rocket Vibrations (Ft. Zach McConnel)

My guest is an aerospace engineer, graduate of CU Boulder, a stand-up comic & producer in Colorado’s comedy scene, but most important, a man about to become a father for the first time.  Please welcome, a now-supporter of putting smoked meat into the mouths of our guests — Zach McConnel! Follow Zach on Instagram @Zach.McComedy & catch him perform around town before he goes full dad-mode! Sean is taking TSS on the road! For episode 222, I am joined by one of my best buddies going all the way back to pee-wee football; someone who has always had a curious mind matched with an unstoppable drive, making his long-awaited return to InTALLerable for a milestone ep. matched with an experimental multi-cam setup, please welcome: Wood! No need to follow or find Wood because he’s busy making sure America has food to eat. That said, I feel grateful to get this hang with him on my silly satire show because he always makes me laugh.  We talk about playing chinese laborers & creating InTALLerable’s first-run of merch using Wood’s engraving laser, how you can mog in ways beyond Clavicular’s typical tenants, & Wood teaches Sean about Project Azorian.  A special ‘Fireside Chat’ with Wood is available for our supporters at Patreon.com/InTALLerable I also recovered & posted to the Patreon another Black Box Lost Tape — Ep. 7: Christmas Cast (Ft. Ep. 221: Trilateral Commission of Denver Comedy Club Underlings (Ft. 'Big' Mike Long & Josh Beaver)

Everyone please, pull up a seat at our table of fuckary for this wild ride.  We saved one chair at TSS for each of the three “houses” of Denver Comedy Clubs.  It’s riff or be killed, in a new survival-style…okay enough of that.  Now that I have your attention, the only real power that this ‘Trilateral Commission’ holds, is the power of self-awareness.  Or at the least, enough of it to know our low placement on the totem pole.  To call us: underlings is a misnomer, to be frank; but luckily, Frank isn’t on the Commission.   Both making their long-anticipated & triumphant return on InTALLerable. Ready for more delicious smoked chicken wings, I can’t help but feel fortunate to get us all together with Grant Lucas on production, for a record-breaking episode.  First, a well-loved bartender from the Denver Comedy Underground, he was recently ‘passed’ at DCU and his headshot hangs on their roster wall of comics, known for his physical size, so much so that it’s in his name, but you might just know him from his drop on our soundboard, don’t forget — he’s educated: 'Big' Mike Long!   Last, but only because that’s the order he was born in & where he chose to sit on the show, from the Denver Improv, always eager to let a man flashing a badge walk-on-by, he is almost always almost awake, so you really have to clap for him, folks: Josh Beaver! Follow them on social media — Big Mike @Black_Hagrid — Josh Beaver @BeaverComedy_ If you get the chance to watch them perform stand-up, don’t miss it.  I mean it.  In fact, please skip any show I might be on, to go see either of these gentlemen, instead.  I’ll understand. Everybody gets to see the uncut glory of EATIN’ with Big Mike & Josh for this episode.   This is a free preview of what you would get for all our episodes, if you were one of our supporters over on Patreon.com/InTALLerable  For the cost of the cheapest rack of beer (if you sub for 1 year), you will help us stay 100% ad-free & now if you join, we will send you your pick of our first run of merch.  Ever.  Humble beginnings, but we gotta start somewhere.  If you’re already a supporter, bless you.  You make this show possible, we make it InTALLerable.  FO & BW 0:00 — Guest Intros 2:00 — Mike's never flown 4:45 — White Pilot Dads 7:30 — Josh Flying Story 9:00 — Robots fly the plane? 14:00 — Seeing Big Mike in Action at DCU 16:45 — A lineup in the Nuggets section 19:00 — Brands should jump on Beaver! 21:30 — Bad stuff might work better 23:30 — The Files 25:00 — Built on evil & immorality 27:00 — Kabal & Black History 29:30 — “Are we allowed to say Mossad?” 34:00 — Living in ‘Idiocracy’ 37:15 — Safe Phrase against AI Fraud 39:00 — Bounty Hunters at the Improv 47:00 — Beaver’s ‘1 year of gay’ 48:30 — “Always inflate the numbers” 50:30 — EATIN’ 1:22:45 — After-Hours Show 1:23:15 — Wing Review! 1:26:00 — Going for a Record 1:27:30 — Why do they?? 1:31:00 — Edgelords 1:34:00 — Sean is “cooked” 1:36:45 — Big Mike Rant 1:39:00 — Totem Pole 1:43:00 — DMX speaks through Grant 1:44:00 — Big Mike tough Wing Review 1:46:00 — Big Mike’s Sound Drop 1:49:00 — Roasting Beaver 1:51:30 — Beverages at DCU 1:53:00 — Worst time to be a peasant? 1:54:30 — After-After Hours Show 1:55:00 — Wearing a Dress Pays Off 1:57:30 — Robert Johnson 1:59:15 — Would Beaver Sell his Soul? 2:01:15 — Speculation & Ignorance 2:04:00 — When Bounty Hunters Come 2:06:30 — We are a “Waste of Energy” 2:10:00 — The show: Grant & the 3 Funny People 2:12:00 — Clean up vomit, be the feature, etc. 2:14:00 — Mike kills mid-shift 2:16:45 — Earning your soul (in comedy) 2:21:00 — You can do your ‘N’ set whenever! 2:26:00 — “What’s it called..
