This show is for managers who want to develop a profitable IoT initiative - for the buyers and sellers of IoT tech. Although the focus is on value creation and how to make money with IoT - it's pretty techy. Listen to IoT’s leading authorities discuss the business and technology of the Internet of Things. Bruce Sinclair’s interviews are entertaining and educational, complementing information found in his McGraw-Hill published book: IoT Inc, his media site: www.iot-inc.com, and his Iot-Inc Certified IoT Professional (ICIP) online training program: www.iot-inc.com/training.

The Trusted IoT Alliance – Standardizing Blockchain for IoT

The IoT Business Show is brought to you by the Iot-Inc Certified IoT Professional (ICIP) online training & certification program: http://www.iot-inc.com/training

Want to incorporate blockchain into IoT? Well, that’s a pretty tall order but you have two ways to go about it. Go it alone to build the world’s best IoT blockchain protocol and hope it’s adopted or join others that have similar goals to build the world’s best IoT blockchain protocol in hopes that it’s adopted. In this episode of the IoT Business Show, I speak with Zaki Manian about the technology and business advantages of blockchain in IoT and the approach the Trusted IoT Alliance is taking to make them a reality.

IoT Security – the Security Development Lifecycle Way

IoT Security – the Security Development Lifecycle Way

The IoT Business Show is brought to you by the Iot-Inc Certified IoT Professional (ICIP) online training & certification program: http://www.iot-inc.com/training

We all know, whether from experience or just intuitively, that bolting security on an IoT product after much of the development has been completed is a total rookie mistake and a recipe for disaster. Yet this still happens. By crowdfunded startups who don’t mention security in their videos, to internal teams in larger enterprises who also emphasize the bling in order to get their project greenlit from within. In this episode of the IoT Business Show, I speak with Chris Romeo about the Security Development Lifecycle, the polar opposite to the bolt-on, that’s been successfully used in IT security for years.

Blockchain in IoT and the Advent of Truthful Data

The IoT Business Show is brought to you by the Iot-Inc Certified IoT Professional (ICIP) online training & certification program: http://www.iot-inc.com/training

Blockchain. One of the few technologies more hyped than IoT. Put them together and it’s a hypefest. But is it warranted? Honestly, I don’t know but I can tell you, for me, the decision is not going to be based on if it’s cool tech, it’s going to be based on, if that cool tech contributes to making more money. In this episode of the IoT Business Show, I speak with Jessica Groopman about what blockchain is and how it fits into the Internet of Things.

IoT Security Assessment Black Hat, White Hat or Gray?

IoT Security Assessment Black Hat, White Hat or Gray?

The IoT Business Show is brought to you by the Iot-Inc Certified IoT Professional (ICIP) online training & certification program: http://www.iot-inc.com/training

Black hat, white hat… gray hat? What does it all mean? In this context, the different colored hats refer to the different approaches to testing the cyber security of your IT, or in our case, IoT infrastructure. In this episode of the IoT Show, I speak with Paul Jauregui about pen testing and other things you need to know about when working with an external security assessment firm.

Tough and Tougher: IoT Security and Privacy

Tough and Tougher: IoT Security and Privacy

The IoT Business Show is brought to you by the Iot-Inc Certified IoT Professional (ICIP) online training & certification program: http://www.iot-inc.com/training

The more I dig into it, the more I’m convinced that privacy is a bigger issue than security in IoT. Don’t get me wrong, the challenges facing IoT security are huge and in many cases, unchartered but, we’ll figure them out. Why? Because we’re good at figuring out tech. What’s going to be more challenging is teasing out the rules of engagement from the tangled web of IoT privacy. This involves people, companies, special interests, and the law – much more difficult and with huge business implications. In this episode of the IoT Business Show, I speak with privacy philosopher Justin Klein Keane about the challenges we face and some mental frameworks in which to consider them.

Risk Assessment for the Internet of Things

Risk Assessment for the Internet of Things

The IoT Business Show is brought to you by the Iot-Inc Certified IoT Professional (ICIP) online training & certification program: http://www.iot-inc.com/training

We speak about our offensive game so much that we forget that we need good defense in business too, that is, effectively protecting the value we create. However, and I speak from experience, the shiny new things seem so much more important than the seemingly dull security and privacy. Well, when looked at from a risk perspective, security and privacy all of a sudden become the purview of the manager. In this episode of the IoT Business Show, I speak with Paul Dant about IoT risk assessment as well as security by design, threat modeling and other important topics to the manager.

Excellent IoT themed podcast and highly recommended!

I first came across this podcast through one of Bruce's IoT modules on Linkedin and have been an avid subscriber ever since. There are three main aspects to the podcast that I think provide the most value:

1. High level overview of IoT architectures that Bruce provides through his Linkedin modules, podcasts and website
2. Discussion with industry leads who are actively developing IoT solutions for their end users.
3. Overview of adjacent technologies such as AI and ML to not only get a better sense of what it involves, but also discuss the integration of these technologies with IoT.

I highly recommend this podcast to anyone who is interested in IoT technologies. It does'nt really matter if you are a beginner or already an experienced user in this space- this podcast definitely provides something of value for everyone.
