He was also at the ground level for the creation of Star Wars Celebration and played a huge role in bringing the event to life. Episode 027 - The Celebration Collecting Track with Gus Lopez
Since the first Celebration in 1999, there have been panels about Star Wars collecting. Over time this has grown into the Collecting Track, a Celebration institution, featuring panels about all corners of the collecting world and even Collecting Track collectibles! Kara wanted to dig into the topic during this anniversary month and there was no one better to talk to than Gus Lopez, who has been there since the very beginning. They discuss the history of the Collecting Track, how it's grown and expanded over the years, and what makes it so integral to the spirit of Celebration.

Episode 026 - Patrick T. Gorman & "Star Wars in 30 Minutes"
Wiffle ball bats become lightsabers. Folding chairs are piloted as X-Wings. A trash can that's painted like R2-D2. These were just a few of the things that you could expect from "Star Wars in 30 Minutes", a play that was staged at Celebrations II, III, IV, VI, and Anaheim 2022. Today, Kara welcomes writer and director Patrick T. Gorman to the show as they discuss the life of the piece and it's place in Star Wars Celebration history, not to mention the other twists and turns the story takes...bringing the show to Edinburgh Fringe, expanding to "Star Wars in 60 Minutes", and being seen by The Maker himself! The Preservation of Fandom!
As a subscriber of the best ‘zine around, I was very excited when I saw Kara was going to be starting a podcast and it’s been a blast listening to the first few episodes!
I love the idea behind collecting an oral history of different aspects of the Star Wars fandom, the stories have been great, and it is a great reminder that there’s no one way to experience something you love!
Highly recommend to anyone who loves Star Wars or needs some deeper insight into other little slices of fandom!
