    E07: #NotMyFannyBrice

On today’s episode of Into the Murphyverse, we’re diving into the enormous, convoluted, and at times unbelievable fiasco that is Ryan Murphy’s production of Funny Girl. This story has everything: heroes, villains, life imitating art, and of course Jane Lynch. But most importantly, Lea Michele is #NotMyFannyBrice [ we luv u beanie :') ]

E06: Sue Slayvester & Antiheroes in the Murphyverse

E06: Sue Slayvester & Antiheroes in the Murphyverse

What makes an antihero? And why are there so many in the Murphyverse? Today we're dissecting why antiheroes are central to so many Murphyverse shows and why Sue Sylvester--ahem, Slayvester--is the best one. You love to hate her and you love to love her. She's an icon, she's a legend, and she is the moment. And that's how Sue "C's" it.
Plus, we're discussing some breaking news in the Murphyverse. If it has happened in the past 12 months, it's breaking news to us. And for the record, we #StandWithBeanie. Don't miss this ep!

E04: “It’s Just a Moist Towelette!”: LGBTQ+ Representation in the Murphyverse

E04: “It’s Just a Moist Towelette!”: LGBTQ+ Representation in the Murphyverse

Ryan Murphy has been quoted as saying “I made gay sidekicks the leads.” But there’s a bit more to be said about this. We want to look at the ebb and flow of queerness and LGBTQ+ representation in the Murphyverse. We want to ask questions like: Are Ryan Murphy’s queer characters too male, too cis, and too white? Do we see enough intersectionality in the Murphyverse? And finally, is Ryan Murphy a lesbophobe? Tune in to find out!

PS This episode may contain some Impeachment: American Crime Story spoilers, so proceed with caution!

    E03: Beanie, Baby!

    E03: Beanie, Baby!

We’ve seen quite a few Ryan Murphy productions come out recently, so we'd just want to take some time to talk about them and where these new shows and series fit into the Murphyverse. We’re calling this episode Beanie, Baby! as more than one of these projects feature America's sweetheart, Beanie Feldstein. We’re talking about the new American Crime Story series Impeachment, coming Sept. 7 (we’ll do some speculating about that) as well as the news that Funny Girl is returning to Broadway with none other than Lea Michele--oh, strike that-- BEANIE FELDSTEIN as its Barbara Streisand reincarnate. And finally we’ll talk a bit about our thoughts on American Horror Stories, the spin-off anthology series rife with AHS references and nepotism babies. Don't miss it!

Hilarious and informative pod!

I watch a lot of Netflix and didn’t realize that Ryan Murphy was the creator of so many shows. Excited for the hosts to dig deeper into some of the shows I know and love!

Phenomenal

A wonderful deep dive into the twisted head of Ryan Murphy. The Stevie Nicks cameo in Episode 1 was especially enlightening. Brava!
