RYAN PATRICK: The LUMA KNOTTY leader on living life surrounded by music!

RYAN PATRICK: The LUMA KNOTTY leader on living life surrounded by music!

Luma Knotty is a band that defies a genre label and that's just how band leader Ryan Patrick (aka Rasta Ryan) likes it. Ryan has been immersed in a wide variety of musical genres all of his life and his approach to writing reflects that diversity. While reggae might be the foundation of a lot of Luma Knotty's music, it's usually served up with a healthy helping of funk, rock, blues, hip-hop, rap, and soul. And folks who have experienced Luma Knotty live know it's next to impossible to keep your feet still. Ryan formed Luma Knotty for the purpose of creative liberty and what he's led this band to do is make music that grabs your attention and doesn't let go.

"System Check," "Coming In Hot," and "Better Days" performed by Luma Knotty
    written by Ryan Patrick
℗ 2023 Ryan Gleason. Used with permission of Ryan Patrick.

IKE ARUMBA: From polkas to rockers, legalities to radio shows, Ike's got it covered!

Ike Arumba is a musician, a lawyer, an infidel, and part chimp. He's also one of the most interesting guys you'll come across. In this episode, Ike shares about his musical and legal exploits in Madison, Wisconsin during the late 1970s and Seattle, Washington around the time the grunge scene came to prominence. Ike also talks about his band, the Infidels, other musical things he's into like The Ike Arumba Show that broadcasts weekly on Code Zero Radio, and how music helped him recover from a serious brain injury. Heck, you can even polka to one of the tunes in this show! There's never a dull moment with Ike.

NOTE: A portion of this show deals with traumatic brain injury and includes graphic details. Discretion is advised.

"Zombie Farm" and "Yee Hee Hee" performed by Ike Arumba & the Infidels

TYLER SJ. on writing and recording about life, living it, and his new album that's all about it.

TYLER SJ. on writing and recording about life, living it, and his new album that's all about it.

Tyler Sj. describes himself as a "very average guy writing about very average things. Slightly better than average at doing it.” He likes to write about the things most folks know like family, growing up, figuring stuff out, and sobriety. He writes from his own experience and whether you listen to the songs on his new album, Long Bit of Weather, or read his articles on his website, you somehow get the feeling you're getting to know him. That's because you are. Tyler might be what Joe Walsh called an ordinary average guy, but as an artist he is far above average. Take a listen to this show and get to know one of northeast Wisconsin's most personable talents, Tyler Sj.

"Take Me Dancing," "Better Now," and "Hope" written and performed by Tyler Sj.
℗ 2024 Tyler Sj. Used with permission of Tyler Sjostrom.

ZACH FELL of WISCONSIN MUSIC PODCAST: Part 1 of a special podcast crossover event!

ZACH FELL of WISCONSIN MUSIC PODCAST: Part 1 of a special podcast crossover event!

Zach Fell loves Wisconsin music so much that he created, produces, and hosts the Wisconsin Music Podcast which is "amplifying Wisconsin musicians." Like Into The Music, Zach uses WMP to expose local artists to a wider audience literally the world over. But there's a lot more to Zach than WMP—he's a band director, a studio owner, producer, engineer, arranger, and one heck of sax player as is evidenced by the jazz/funk/rock instrumental "I Don't Know" by The Fell Boyzs. So get to know Zach here and then make it a point to catch him on the Wisconsin Music Podcast!

Part 2 of this crossover event will publish Tuesday, April 16 on the Wisconsin Music Podcast. We turn it around as Zach interviews Rob and gets the scoop on Into The Music. Don't miss it!

"I Don't Know" written and performed by The Fell Boyzs
℗ 2004 Fell Boyzs. Used with permission of Zach T. Fell.

7000APART and MICHAEL GRABNER: Each is dropping a fantastic new single!

7000APART and MICHAEL GRABNER: Each is dropping a fantastic new single!

    It's a two-fer Tuesday!

7000apart (Jonathan Kresin and Amelie Eiding) and Michael Grabner are two of northeast Wisconsin's finest music acts, fans of each other, and not strangers to Into The Music. Each has released a brand new single and we have both on this episode! For 7000apart, it's "Started A Fire," a high powered number featuring a blistering guitar solo by Sabaton's Tommy Johansson. For Michael Grabner, it's "Blind So Long" with which he continues a string of singles that most artists would envy. We also discuss making music in Sweden and the U.S., how each approaches video, and the formation of Michael's new band! Two great artists plus two fantastic new singles equals one heck of a show!

"Started A Fire" performed by 7000apart
written by Amelie Eiding and Jonathan Kresin
    ℗ 2024 7000apart, LLC. Used with permission of 7000apart.

"Blind So Long" written and performed by Michael Grabner
℗ 2024 Michael Grabner. Used with permission of Michael Grabner.
