I Highly recommend this podcast. Thank you, Eric and crew! Really well done. I was a kid in the 90s and knew about the Unabomber as a boogeyman but hadn’t ever done the work to become familiar with the story (tbh, I didn’t know until I listened to this podcast that I’d been unconsciously conflating Ted Kazinski and Timothy McVeigh ~ they melted together in my brain as a kid and now they’re distinct people again - yay!). The compassion and thoughtfulness you brought to this story was admirable and delightful. Thanks for making this story about humans a more humane one than it tried to be for a long time.

I liked this podcast and thought it was really interesting. I kept wanting to listen to the next episode, which is a sign of a good show. The one thing I will say is that I sort of disagreed with the angle of the last episode - it seemed to sort of legitimize the unabomber’s message. At the end of the day, this guy was a deranged terrorist who clearly had some serious mental health problems and I think the podcast may have romanticized his anti-technology message a little too much. I don’t think this was the entire angle of the show, but the way it ended made me like it a little less.

If there is any beauty to be found in this horribly sad and violent story, Eric taps it. Thoroughly researched, sensitively told, nicely interlaced with glimmers of goodness from David Kaczynski. Top-tier storytelling and production that showcases humanity in inhumane circumstances.
