    Matthew López-Jensen｜Landscape Perceived through Technology

    In this episode, we talked about using technologies such as Google Street View to photograph the landscape, as well as seeing the land as a place that collect history and seeing the act of taking pictures as an anti-death impulse. Mattew Jensen is an environmental artist with a lens-based approach to many projects. He engages with social practice, and a lot of his works are community-based participatory projects.     Luis Manuel Diaz | Post-migration Life and Images of Care

    In this episode, we talked about the post-migration life of Latino youth, the lack of representation of certain community, the cultural assimilation problem of America, as well as the exploitative history of photography and works that reinforces stereotypes. Luis Manuel Diaz, born in Michoacán, Mexico, is a photographer based in New York. His work examines themes of immigration, citizenship, and care. Diaz holds a BFA in Photography from Parsons School of Design and was recently awarded the EnFoco Photography Fellowship and the Magnum Foundation’s US Dispatches Grant.     Wendy Vogel | Nude Photography and Morality Around Art-Making

    In this episode, we talked about nude photography, both male and female, including the works of Paul Kooiker, Lee Friedlander, Robert Mapplethorpe, Carmen Winant, among many others. We also talked about art institutions and some of their decisions that are quite controversial.  Wendy Vogel is a writer, critic and independent curator. A former editor at Flash Art International, Modern Painters and Art in America, she writes regularly about art and culture for a number of publications, including Artforum, art-agenda and MOUSSE. She has curated or co-curated exhibitions at the Hessel Museum at Bard College, The Kitchen, Abrons Art Center, VOLTA NY, bitforms and EFA Project Space. She currently teaches in the photography department at Parsons School of Design.     Matthew Leifeit is a photographer, magazine-editor, publisher, and professor based in Brooklyn, NY. He was formerly the photo director of Vice Magazine, and has written criticism and interviews about art and photography for Aperture, Vice, Art F City, and Time. Leifheit's photographic work is held in public collections including the ICP and the Museum of Modern Art Library. His photographs have appeared in The New York Times, The New Yorker and Time Magazine.
