    The Hidden Cost of Hyper-Independence

In this episode, I sit down with physician, executive coach, and lifelong learner Aparna Ananth to explore what happens when the identities we've built our lives around begin to fall away. From a childhood marked by emotional self-reliance to a successful career in medicine and leadership, Aparna shares how a fiercely independent protector helped her survive, achieve, and thrive. But when a sabbatical, an unexpected divorce, and the loss of long-held identities arrived almost simultaneously, she found herself facing a question she could no longer ignore: "Is this all there is?" This is a deeply reflective conversation about healing, asking for help, trusting life's unfolding, and moving from doing to being. Together, we explore the difference between control and agency, the wisdom of Internal Family Systems, the courage required to soften old protections, and the profound practice of allowing. This conversation is a powerful reflection on how healing often isn't about reinventing ourselves, but about uncovering the parts of us that have been there all along beneath the roles, expectations, and protections we've carried This episode sits primarily in the Restoring phase of Cycle Breaking, reconnecting to self, with beautiful threads of Integration woven throughout. The Wedding Planner Within: A Story of Control, Survival & Integration

As a child, Leslie sensed something wasn’t right long before she had words for it. After being taken from her home, growing up across countries, navigating instability, and later experiencing abuse, she developed one powerful strategy to survive: control. In this deeply honest conversation, Leslie shares how that protector showed up throughout her life through perfectionism, bulimia, achievement, work, relationships, and eventually parenting. But what changed everything wasn’t forcing herself to be different. It was learning to see the pattern, understand what it was protecting, and give it a name. Together, we explore what happens when we stop asking “What’s wrong with me?” and start asking “What happened to me… and what am I protecting?” This episode is part of theNaming phase of cycle-breaking. “I Just Wanted to Be Loved”: How Childhood Loss Shapes The Way We Chase and Sabotage Love

In this episode of It Ends With You, we explore the first phase of cycle-breaking: Awakening; the moment you begin to notice that something doesn’t feel right anymore, even if you can’t fully explain why. Melanie shares her deeply personal journey of growing up with loss, loneliness, and the impact it had on how she showed up in relationships. From intense jealousy and fear of abandonment to overgiving and losing herself in the need to be loved, she reflects on the patterns she carried for years without fully understanding them. Together, we explore what it takes to name these patterns for what they are, and how awareness, though uncomfortable at first, becomes the doorway to change. Melanie also shares the turning point that helped her build a healthy, trusting relationship, and how doing this work is now shaping the way she shows up as a parent. This is a conversation about self-awareness, honesty, and the freedom that begins the moment you stop fighting for love, and start seeing the patterns behind it.
