It's Bizzy

Elizabeth "Bizzy" Chance

It’s Bizzy is about real life—the messy parts, the funny parts, the hard parts, and everything in between. I’m Elizabeth “Bizzy” Chance, and after years of talking about sobriety and recovery, the conversation has grown into something bigger. We talk about health and wellness, relationships, family, faith, reinvention, current events, aging, starting over, and figuring out how to live a life that actually feels like yours. Some episodes are solo, some are conversations with experts, authors, doctors, coaches, and people with interesting stories—but the goal is always the same: to have honest conversations that make us think, laugh, question things, and maybe do life a little differently. I don’t have all the answers, and I’m not interested in pretending I do. I’m interested in asking better questions, staying curious, and continuing to grow. Welcome to It’s Bizzy. Life is complicated. Let’s talk about it.

Migraines Are More Than Headaches: Root Causes, Triggers & Relief with Dr. Amelia Scott Barrett

Send us Fan Mail In Episode 674 of It’s Bizzy, I sit down with Dr. Amelia Scott Barrett, a board-certified neurologist, Stanford-trained physician, TEDx speaker, and founder of Migraine Relief Code. Dr. Barrett is also the author of Decode Your Migraine, a book focused on helping people better understand the biology behind migraine and explore more personalized solutions. Migraines are not just headaches—and for many people, they can completely disrupt work, relationships, sleep, and everyday life. I have a personal connection to this topic. I experienced migraines when I was younger, and my sister has dealt with debilitating migraines for years, so I wanted to understand why migraines happen, why they can be so difficult to treat, and what people can do when they feel like they have tried everything. Dr. Barrett explains why a migraine is never really “just a headache,” what may be happening beneath the surface, and why she believes looking at root causes can be so important. We talk about: ·       Common migraine root causes and contributing factors ·       Genetics and precision medicine ·       Hormones and migraine ·       Nutrient deficiencies ·       Gut health and inflammation ·       Food sensitivities and migraine triggers ·       Alcohol and its effect on sleep and the brain ·       Hydration and electrolytes ·       Environmental toxins and plastics ·       Why triggers may not be the whole story ·       When it is time to see a neurologist ·       New developments in migraine treatment ·       What to do when you feel like nothing has worked Dr. Barrett also shares her “bucket” analogy for understanding migraine triggers and explains why building resilience in the body may be more useful than simply trying to avoid one trigger after another. If you or someone you love lives with migraine, this conversation offers a different way of thinking about what may be driving the symptoms and where to begin looking for answers. Can You Ever Really Go Home Again? Reinvention, Family & Finding Peace

Send us Fan Mail In Episode 673 of It’s Bizzy, I’m talking about what it felt like to go home after being away for more than five years. I returned to the place where I raised my children and spent more than two decades of my life, and I honestly didn’t know what to expect. I was nervous about the people I might see, the memories that might surface, and whether going back would bring up old versions of myself. But what surprised me most was realizing just how much I had changed. In this solo episode, I talk about family, grief, sobriety, faith, reinvention, and learning that we don’t have to react the way we once did. I share what it felt like to return to familiar places without falling back into old patterns, and why finding peace within yourself can change the way you experience everything around you. We talk about people-pleasing, fear of judgment, learning to walk away from conflict, becoming more comfortable with who you are, and accepting that you may never be able to go back to the life you once had. Maybe going home isn’t about returning to who you were. Maybe it’s about realizing how far you’ve come. If you’re going through a major life transition, starting over, redefining yourself, dealing with family changes, or wondering who you are becoming in this next chapter, this episode is for you. Do You Really Matter? Finding Self-Worth, Purpose & Meaning with John R. Miles

Send us Fan Mail In Episode 672 of It’s Bizzy, I sit down with award-winning author, speaker, former Fortune 50 executive, Navy veteran, and Passion Struck podcast host John R. Miles for a conversation about something I think so many of us are struggling with today: Do I matter? John is the author of the upcoming book The Mattering Effect: Creating a Life of Meaning and Worth, and we talk about what happens when our identity becomes wrapped up in our titles, careers, money, accomplishments, productivity, and what other people think of us. John opens up about reaching a point in his own successful career when he began asking himself whether anyone would even notice if he were gone. Despite the titles and accomplishments, he realized that work had taken priority over his relationships, physical health, mental health, and the parts of life that actually mattered most. We talk about burnout, loneliness, feeling invisible, self-worth, faith, sobriety, and why learning to matter to yourself has to come before expecting someone else to make you feel valuable. John also walks us through his MATTER framework—Meaning, Autonomy, Trust, Time, Energy, and Reciprocity—and how each of these areas can help us create a life that feels more connected, meaningful, and whole. And, of course, we talk about God. John shares how a Bible study helped him realize that the path he was on was not the path he believed God intended for him, and how that realization eventually led him toward helping people who feel lonely, burned out, disconnected, and forgotten. This conversation really made me think about how often we ask ourselves, “What am I accomplishing?” instead of asking, “Do I believe I matter simply because I am here?” John’s new book, The Mattering Effect: Creating a Life of Meaning and Worth, will be available October 6, 2026. If you have ever felt invisible, burned out, lost in your career, disconnected from yourself, or wondered whether you are enough without all of your accomplishments, I think you’re going to love this conversation. The Success Wound: When Achievement Is Never Enough with Brooke Taylor

Send us Fan Mail In Episode 671 of It’s Bizzy, I sit down with transformational career coach, author, speaker, and former Google Marketing Lead Brooke Taylor for a conversation about success, burnout, sobriety, faith, and what happens when we begin tying our worth to what we accomplish. Brooke is the creator of the “Success Wound™,” the idea that so many high achievers begin to believe they are only as valuable as what they produce, achieve, or accomplish. We talk about Brooke’s own journey from working at Google to getting sober at 24, and how recovery helped her begin looking at ambition, achievement, and success in an entirely different way. We also talk about burnout, people-pleasing, perfectionism, workaholism, comparison, faith, and that constant feeling of “I should be doing more.” One of the things I loved most about this conversation is Brooke’s reminder that ambition itself isn’t the problem. The question is: where is it coming from? Are we chasing success because it genuinely matters to us, or because we’re hoping the next achievement will finally make us feel like we are enough? This is such an interesting conversation for anyone who has ever worked hard, accomplished the thing they thought would make them happy, and then wondered… now what? Sometimes life gets lifey. When Grief Is Complicated: Losing My Brother, Letting Go & Trusting God

Send us Fan Mail In Episode 670 of It’s Bizzy, I’m sharing something deeply personal: the unexpected loss of my younger brother. Out of respect for my family, I’m not going into the circumstances surrounding his death. Instead, I want to talk about grief — especially complicated grief, family relationships, loss, faith, and what it feels like when your emotions don’t look the way you think they’re supposed to. I haven’t cried the way I expected to. I’ve continued working. I’ve been writing. I’ve been praying. And I’ve been learning, once again, how powerless I am over so many things in life. In this episode, I talk about my relationship with my brother, remembering the good instead of only the difficult parts, processing loss in my own way, and trusting God when I cannot understand or control what is happening. I also share how sobriety has taught me to sit with uncomfortable feelings instead of running from them, and why I believe there is no “right” way to grieve. If you’ve ever lost someone you loved — especially someone with whom you had a complicated relationship — I hope this episode reminds you that you are allowed to feel whatever you feel. Why Diets Keep Failing Us: Body Trust, GLP-1s & Making Peace with Food

Send us Fan Mail Episode 667 of It’s Bizzy features Elizabeth Chance in conversation with ICF-certified coach, motivational speaker, author, and fashion designer Regina Oswald about dieting, body image, GLP-1 medications, emotional eating, and what it really takes to make peace with food. After beginning restrictive dieting at just 12 years old, Regina spent decades cycling through calorie counting, Weight Watchers, Atkins, keto, intermittent fasting, and other diet programs before realizing that constantly trying to control her body was taking a serious physical and emotional toll. Elizabeth and Regina explore why traditional diets so often fail, how body image is shaped by family, culture, social media, and the beauty industry, and why learning to listen to your body may be more powerful than another restrictive eating plan. They also take on one of the biggest conversations in wellness today: GLP-1 medications and weight loss. Regina shares her perspective on food noise, hunger cues, nutrition, muscle preservation, and why weight-loss medications should not replace properly nourishing the body. The conversation also goes deeper into emotional eating, self-worth, aging, faith, and the pressure women feel to constantly improve or “fix” themselves. Regina explains her journey from body control to body trust and why caring for your body can come from love rather than criticism. If you’ve ever felt exhausted by dieting, ashamed of your body, obsessed with the scale, overwhelmed by food rules, or wondered whether you can finally have a peaceful relationship with food, Episode 667 of It’s Bizzy is for you. In this episode: ·       Why diets can create a cycle of restriction and overeating ·       Body image and the pressure women face to look a certain way ·       GLP-1 medications, weight loss, and food noise ·       Emotional eating and understanding what you’re really hungry for ·       Moving from body control to body trust ·       Self-worth, aging, faith, and learning to appreciate your body ·       Sustainable nutrition and mind-body harmony ·       How to create a healthier relationship with food without another restrictive diet Regina Oswald is the author of Liberation from the Diet Prison: A Journey to Mind-Body Harmony, which offers women a nine-week pathway toward a healthier, more peaceful relationship with food and themselves. حول
