    Crossrail: Tackling the tough questions

    Mark Wild is CEO of Crossrail Ltd and has more than 30 years leading complex and critical infrastructure. A chartered electrical engineer he started his career in the electricity sector, but the majority of his experience has been in transportation. He has had a long career in operating and building major transportation infrastructure. He is the former Managing Director of Westinghouse Signals and was the CEO of Public Transport Victoria in Australia. Mark has also been the Managing Director of London Underground. In December 2018 he was appointed CEO of Crossrail which is delivering the Elizabeth line, one of Europe’s largest infrastructure projects. Donald Morrison is People & Places Solutions Senior Vice President for Europe and Digital Strategies at Jacobs. He leads over 8,000 people in the delivery of critical buildings, power, transport, water and environment projects, and transport such as Crossrail. Donald started his career in Jacobs’ highways business where he initially worked in the development consultancy business for several private sector developers. He rose to Senior Vice President and General Manager for People & Places Solutions Europe after leading the Sustainable Strategies & Solutions business unit for five years and fulfilling several senior Operations and Sales positions. Donald sits on the Jacobs European Inclusion & Diversity Council and was recently awarded Honorary STEM Ambassador by STEM Learning. Russell Pilgrim is People & Places Solutions Program Director for Jacobs’ Major Project & Program business. For the past three years he has overseen some of the company’s key contribution to Crossrail, the Elizabeth line. In addition, he serves as Jacobs’ designated project executive and company board director on our Crossrail Program Partner joint venture called Transcend. Russell has recently been appointed as the Jacobs European functional lead for program delivery sharing best practice on lessons and solutions for clients here in the U.K. and overseas, such as Marinus Australia, Metrolinx Canada and MRT Malaysia. As a voluntary Business Mentor for The Prince’s Trust Enterprise Programme, Russell is inspired to work with young people to help turn their innovative ideas into business reality.

    Treating the Water Cycle as One Water

    Named one of the top 40 influencers in the water industry by Global Water Intelligence (GWI), Susan Moisio is the go-to person for wet weather and conveyance solutions. Now as the global solutions director of Jacobs’ conveyance and storage market, Susan leads our team of practitioners who are helping to ensure a safe and reliable water supply for our clients by providing innovative solutions that will extend the life of their water assets and reduce the risk of failure. She is a technology fellow and a 30+ year member of the Water Environment Federation (WEF), a Chair of WEF’s Collection Systems & Distribution Symposium and the recipient of the WEF and OWEA Golden Manhole Awards for service—a testament to her background and expertise in the field.  Susan has gained significant industry experience serving as the Conveyance Senior Technical Consultant for the Miami-Dade County Water and Sewer Department Ocean Outfall Legislation Program—a $5.7 billion, 11-year program to eliminate all wastewater discharge to the Atlantic Ocean by 2025; Baton Rouge’s $2 billion Wet Weather Program and the Northern Kentucky $100 million CSO Tunnel.  Internationally, Susan is well recognized for her work on the Thames Tideway Tunnel Program in London, UK—an iconic program that will reduce overflow into the Thames River; as well as her involvement in VCS’s integrated CSO model which includes Odense, Denmark’s collection system, combined and storm, river and treatment works.

    Responding to Potential Cyber Attacks with Advanced Techniques

    John Karabias is the Vice President, Growth and Sales Strategy for Jacobs Critical Mission Solutions’ (CMS) Cyber business unit. In his role, John partners with Jacobs’ Cyber leadership team to develop, qualify, and execute the Cyber pipeline. Prior to joining Jacobs, John served in various program and sales leadership roles at organizations such as Engility, SAIC, and RTR Technologies. In these roles, he successfully captured multiple contract awards for U.S. Army, U.S. Navy, and U.S. Customs and Boarder Protection programs. John also built sophisticated market ontologies related to client needs aligning core company offerings and early-stage internal research and development capabilities to customer requirements. He is a practitioner of Agile and DevOps and has helped customers transform their organizations through the implementation of tailored Agile and DevOps solutions at scale. Eric Conway, Technical Director for Cybersecurity Capabilities and Solutions, Jacobs Cyber,directs investment, research, and development of advanced cybersecurity solutions for customers in the Department of Defense, Intelligence Community, and Federal Civilian market. He is a lead solutions architect, designing systems and products within the Jacobs Cyber core capabilities of cyber analytics, cyber operations, and cyber readiness. Mr. Conway oversees Jacobs Cyber solution labs that develop security products that focus on cybersecurity assessment, monitoring, analytics, compliance, and training. He is a Principal Investigator (PI) for Defense Advanced Research Program Agency (DARPA) on programs developing next-generation cybersecurity solutions. Prior to joining Jacobs Mr. Conway spent over two decades as a systems and software engineer in the Intelligence Community and commercial market, developing cyber capabilities, analytical systems, and enterprise software systems to support business, intelligence and security efforts.
