Jam Session

This was a five star podcast for me until they both came out as Timotheé Chalamet apologists. Way too much time spent on a boy who, despite years of PR training, severely misspoke (and will still win awards so, sadly, who cares). Women never get this many chances in the industry, or even this level of attention for their good choices. What a hill to die on.

I love We’re Obsessed. Jodi and Nora have great chemistry, and even when they’re covering pop culture topics I’m out of the loop on, they still manage to make it funny and engaging. I’m excited they’re getting their own feed and moving to twice a week Jam Session, I’ve tried to stick with. Setting aside all the convos that end in “I don’t know, it’s just not for me.” I finally had to say no more after this last episode. The recap of Strangers was rough. I’m not even a stay-at-home mom, but the judgment towards a woman deciding to stay at home, combined with total lack of deeper analysis was frustrating. Then they rolled into Fame sick without actually reading it…and it really showed.

I love We’re Obsessed and I’m so happy that it’s going to go to twice a week and be on a separate feed from Jam Session! It’s fun and upbeat and Jodi and Nora have great chemistry and so much enthusiasm. Jam Session is the opposite. The internalized misogyny is rampant, it makes the hosts sound bitter and old. So much pick-me behavior, every week they’re randomly hating on another woman. The parroting of snark Reddit talking points is worrisome too, especially when a lot of what they claim has been factually disproven.

Just a joke, how often these women beg for free gifts/products and then turn around and talk about how wealthy they are…unreal!!!!
