Jammers podcast is dedicated to game design ideation. Each episode we draw a theme from those provided by listeners and design a unique game around it. The games we design are scoped to be built in a week or weekend, and in true game jam fashion, we've likely over scoped our creations.     Ep. 12 - What's Old is New with Vimlark

    This week I'm joined by Nick, known in the game dev community as Vimlark. Vimlark is a game jam veteran who participates in sever game jams every year. In 2020, Vim managed to place in the top 20 submissions during the Game Makers Toolkit Jam with his game, Make the Way .  In this episode, we discuss the importance of creating a good user experience in games. We chat about one really appreciated UX element, and one that is often left out but highly sought after. Following our discussion we design a game around the theme, "What's Old is New".     This week I'm joined by August Yadon. August is a game developer, a software engineer, and he's the creator behind the comical VR experience, Plunker. We chat about our experience with Ludum Dare 41 (Combine two incompatible game genres) - my first ever game jam, in which August and I teamed up to create Death Fog Dash.
