By Faith Part 5: Remembering the Faith Fundamentals of our Founders

The founding fathers of our faith, much like the founders of our democracy during the civil rights movement, introduced us to and instilled in us important fundamentals that we need on our faith journey. By Faith Part 4: Keep Your Eyes on the Prize

As we navigate the trials and travails of life, we must keep in mind that we may not physically touch and experience everything we are believing God for down here. This type of faith requires some maturity. We are best used by God when we walk by faith with an eye toward the Promised Land. This sermon was preached at the Carron Baptist Church in Washington, DC where I serve as the pastor.

By Faith Part 3: Are We There Yet?

At some point on our faith journey we are going to have to trust and obey God when we are waiting and do not know what God is doing. It is during those times, when we are obeying God in our faith, God ushers us into our purpose and destiny. This sermon was preached at Carron Baptist Church in Washington, DC where I serve as the pastor.

    Don't Give Up!

    Don't Give Up!

The recent decision by the Attorney General of Kentucky to not charge the officers who killed Breonna Taylor is another example of how justice continues to evade African-Americans in the United States. However, those of us who believe in Jesus and Justice, must not lose heart. Today's message and scripture serves as a reminder and re-enforces the truth that Jesus assures us that through persistent prayer and passionate protest, we can acquire and achieve justice.

By Faith Part 2: Faith in Action

This episode contains the second installment of a sermon series I preached at the Carron Baptist Church in Washington, DC where I serve as the pastor. I discuss what real faith looks like and what it means to live a life of real faith. The theme of this message is: Real faith is reflected in both our heart and our actions. We know we have the God type of faith when our faith causes our feet to move us toward following God’s lead.
