    Are Croissants really French?

What do you mean you had no idea? To be honest, we almost missed it ourselves, but there's still time to embrace it as an excuse to eat a pile of buttery twists of goodness. In a bid not to seem flaky like our favorite pastry we have dug deep to bring you some fascinating facts about croissants — the first being they're not actually French. We know! Do you dunk yours in your coffee or bite the tail of it first? Are you a tear it into pieces and smother it in Nutella kind of person? Prefer the almond ones over fresh, simple, and plain? Ever spent too much time pondering whether the pain au chocolat is a croissant at all? Covered in jam and drizzled in butter or stuffed with gooey cheese: there is A LOT to think about and these facts will have you talking about and eating croissants from dawn until dusk for a good week. Little known facts You didn't know about Daft Punk

Daft Punk, the Parisian duo responsible for some of the most popular dance and pop songs ever made, have split. They broke the news with an 8-minute video titled “Epilogue,” excerpted from their 2006 film Electroma.  Thomas Bangalter and Guy- Manuel de Homem- Christo formed Daft Punk in Paris in 1993, helping to define the French touch style of house music. Their debut album, 1997’s Homework, was a dance music landmark, featuring classic singles “Around the World” and “Da Funk.” By the release of its follow-up, Discovery, in 2001, the duo had taken to making public appearances in the robot outfits that became their trademark. Beyond the singles, their visual identity, interstellar mystique, and party-music ethos inspired generations of artists across genres. LCD Soundsystem's breakout song, “Daft Punk Is Playing at My House,” captured the duo’s paradoxical embodiment of hipster cool even as their singles dominated airwaves. They released several batches of holiday incredible holiday merch. They were sampled by R&B greats Janet Jackson and Jazmine Sullivan, parodied in Family Guy and Powerpuff Girls, and celebrated in art galleries around the world.  In this episode, you will get to know about Daft Punk much better in the 28 year-long journeys. #daftpunk #daftpunkseperated #daftpunkforeverlegends Follow Us For More Spotify - https://open.spotify.com/show/4sTZP4zml1UNiMvbt6Awyx?si=3BGeAVKVQzKXqlZwapXO9g Apple podcast - https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/jj-talks/id1518408235?uo=4 Google podcast https://www.google.com/podcasts?feed=aHR0cHM6Ly9hbmNob3IuZm0vcy8xZjY2NzNjMC9wb2RjYXN0L3Jzcw Anchor FM - https://anchor.fm/jjtalks Facebook Jonathan - https://www.facebook.com/jonathan.wanasinghe  Facebook Jason - https://www.facebook.com/jason.wanasinghe Instagram Jonathan - https://instagram.com/jonathanwanasinghe  Instagram Jason - https://instagram.com/jason_wanasinghe

  5. Making a memorable conversation.

    02/11/2021

    Making a memorable conversation.

Sometimes the most charismatic people are the ones who finish first. Added to our skills should be how we make the other person feel when he/she engages us. Yes, great conversations stick to our hearts for a long time. People who make great conversations are interesting to be with. It is a law of attraction to want to be around those who listen with their heart and also speak to our hearts. Success often depends on being memorable. Who would you hire: the nice but unremarkable candidate or the one who wowed you with not only her skills but her charisma? Who would you give the raise to the guy who finishes all his projects but never gets noticed or the guy who strategically calls attention to his wins? Who would you stay in touch with after a conference: the woman whose name you’ve already forgotten, or the professional who captivated the crowd with her hilarious stories? It’s obvious you want to be the second person in all these scenarios. Wondering how to cultivate that “memorability?” Here are some techniques to make you that person. 6. GameStop vs. Wall Street

    GameStop vs. Wall Street

‘Dumb Money’ Is on GameStop, and It’s Beating Wall Street at Its Own Game #GameStop shares have soared 1,700 percent as millions of small investors, egged on by social media, employ a classic Wall Street tactic to put the squeeze — on Wall Street. Shares in GameStop plunged by 65% in early trading on #Wallstreet as the trading mania sparked by small investors, which sent its stock surging and cost hedge funds billions of dollars, lost momentum. The struggling Texas-based video game store chain has been the focal point of a battle by small traders, using forums such as #Reddit, to punish Wall Street hedge funds that have bet on certain stocks falling in value. The tumble in GameStop’s shares indicates that the hedge funds betting against it, which had been caught in a “short squeeze” – a situation where they have been forced to buy more shares in a bid to stem their losses – have now closed out their positions. 7. Your Inner Circle

    01/27/2021

    Your Inner Circle

We all want a strong inner circle – and the good news is, we can all have one. But intentionality is the key, and time is the only way. We adore every person in our inner circle of friends. With each of them, we’ve built a unique, irreplaceable history that has woven us together and formed a strong bond of lifelong friendship. For us, they’re inner circle because we know they value who we are. They’re available when we fall apart and they’re the first to celebrate when you get a win. When we hurt or misunderstand each other, they’re willing to have hard, vulnerable conversations. They trust my heart, and we trust theirs. But we think what we love most is that we’re invested in each other. We know they want us to thrive as much as they want to thrive themselves. But each friendship has taken intentionality and time to build. We didn’t always share these values. Life happened and we chose them together. How do I know that my inner circle will show up for me, celebrate me, and have hard conversations with me? Because either they always did, or when they didn’t we had a conversation about it and worked out a shared value (Often in tears and high pitched shaky voices). Sometimes it was easy, and sometimes it took a little negotiation. But with every person in my inner circle, one thing is consistent – we stuck it out. We chose each other. We built. And because of it, over time we developed a rock-solid trust and irreplaceable friendship. We always have the power to choose and to build, both in new and existing friendships. We strike gold when we find others who want to build with us too. If you’re worried about whether or not you have an inner circle, look around you. Your world is full of amazing people – who will you build with? 6 Small Things That Will Make Your Life Better.

Life is about moments that are big and small. Since we only have a limited time on Earth, making the most out of it means doing what we can, when we can. What follows are six small things that will help make your life better. While the improvement may be small, it adds up every day. Call someone you are having issues with If there is someone in your life where issues are getting in the way of your relationship, give them a call. Try to make amends and patch things up while the opportunity presents itself. Do not wait and believe that just the passage of time will make things better. If there is something you can say which will improve the situation between the two of you, call them up and talk. At the very least, you will have the satisfaction of knowing you tried even if things do not work out. But if both of you want things to be better, it starts with a phone call. Support someone in need of help Helping others benefits them and you at the same time. From helping someone across the street to figuring out larger, more difficult situations together, there is much you can give to others if you take the time to do so. Owning up to your mistakes One of the most difficult things in life is owning up to the mistakes that we have made. It’s never easy as pride and self-consciousness get in the way of dealing with our problems. It may be true that the most difficult thing to do is not just realize the mistakes we made but telling others about them. Show your appreciation Telling others how we feel about them is never easy, but it needs to be done in ways that express your appreciation. Letting someone know that you do appreciate them takes very little time and becomes easier the more often you do it. Start by saying “thanks” when someone does something for you, even if it is quite small. A little notice for each good deed can build up over time and make your relationships much stronger. Do one task at a time Feeling better about your life starts with one small task at a time. You can make a list, but often it is just better to find and complete a small, positive task when you are thinking about it. From giving replies to pending emails or removing the clutter from your desk, many small tasks reap positive benefits when you do them daily. Pass it on When you do something helpful for others, the best reward is to tell them to pass it on. This means encouraging them to do good deeds for others as you have done for them. And when someone asks you to pass it on, find ways to do so in your life, you will look forward to it. These six small things can make a big difference in your life. By taking it one step at a time, you can accomplish quite a bit and feel better, too.
