    Structure Changes Lives podcast

Welcome to John’s Tarot. This week, John reflects on a simple but profound question that emerged after a trip to Los Angeles: Why do some people overcome chaotic beginnings and build meaningful lives, while others continue to struggle? Drawing from his own experience growing up in an alcoholic family, decades of recovery, Buddhist practice, nursing, and spiritual exploration, John examines the role that structure plays in personal transformation. Inspired by encounters with homelessness in Los Angeles, he explores how healthy systems—whether found through recovery programs, faith communities, education, service, or spiritual practice—can provide the stability, meaning, accountability, and belonging needed to build a new life. This episode is not a discussion of homelessness itself, but rather an exploration of a question: What helps people move from chaos toward purpose? The episode concludes with a Tarot reading asking: “How would structure help someone coming from a chaotic and disorganized life?” Cards Drawn: • Knight of Cups • The Chariot • Five of Cups Together, these cards reveal a journey toward belonging, self-mastery, and the willingness to leave behind what no longer serves us in order to cross the bridge toward a better life. Whether you are in recovery, seeking greater stability, navigating a life transition, or simply reflecting on your own journey, this episode offers thoughtful insights into the power of structure, meaning, and personal growth. Sophia & The Future podcast

In the final episode of the Sophia Trilogy, we explore what it means to activate the Sophia archetype in our lives and what that activation may mean for our personal, spiritual, and collective future. Sophia—the ancient embodiment of Divine Wisdom—has appeared throughout human history in many forms. From Athena and her sacred owl, to Isis, to the Wisdom traditions of the ancient world, this archetype has guided seekers toward truth, discernment, and the ability to see beyond illusion. In this episode, I reflect on how the Sophia experience changed my life, challenged old beliefs, and encouraged growth beyond ideas that were no longer serving me. Awakening is not always comfortable. It often requires us to examine assumptions, question inherited beliefs, and move beyond familiar ways of understanding the world. We also explore a three-card Tarot reading asking: **What does the activation of the Sophia archetype mean for our future?** The cards reveal: • Three of Wands – Choosing the path of awakening and recognizing those who support our journey. • Ace of Wands – New growth, new energy, and the emergence of new possibilities. • Six of Swords – Becoming someone who can help others navigate difficult transitions and cross challenging waters. Ultimately, this episode is not about acquiring secret knowledge. It is about cultivating wisdom, discernment, and the courage to grow beyond what no longer works. The activation of Sophia is not an ending—it is an invitation to continue the journey. This concludes my three-part introduction to Sophia. There is much more to explore, but perhaps this series will encourage you to begin your own investigation into the archetype of Divine Wisdom and what it may mean in your own life. Have faith. 3. The Archetype of Sophia podcast

    The Archetype of Sophia podcast

In Episode 2 of the Sophia Trilogy, we move beyond the original encounter and explore a deeper question: What if Sophia is not merely a figure from mythology, religion, or personal experience, but an archetype that lives within the human psyche? Drawing upon Jungian psychology, Tarot symbolism, Gnostic traditions, and my own experience, we examine Sophia as the embodiment of Divine Wisdom and Divine Truth. This episode explores how archetypes emerge during the awakening process and how the Sophia archetype can guide us through confusion, illusion, shadow, and uncertainty toward greater authenticity and inner freedom. Sophia is not presented here as a doctrine or dogma, but as a universal pattern of consciousness that has appeared throughout human history in many forms: Athena, Isis, Wisdom Literature, Gnostic teachings, and the symbolic language of the Tarot. We also explore five Tarot cards that embody the energy of Sophia: • The High Priestess – Hidden Truth and Sacred Wisdom • Temperance – Divine Balance and Integration • The Star – Hope, Clarity, and Renewal • Justice – Truth Beyond Illusion • The World – Wholeness and Completion The episode concludes with a special "Sophia Invocation" Tarot reading exploring: • What truth am I avoiding? • What truth is emerging? • What wisdom seeks expression? • What illusion must fall away? • How Sophia guides me now This discussion is ultimately about more than Sophia. It is about the process of having a profound experience, spending years trying to understand it, and discovering how it transforms the way we see ourselves and the world. Have faith. Encounter with Sophia Goddess of Devine Wisdom podcast

Several years ago, I had an experience that profoundly changed the course of my spiritual journey. During an altered-state experience in the mountains, I encountered an entity that identified itself as Sophia—the ancient embodiment of Divine Wisdom. At the time, I knew very little about Sophia. Yet after the experience, I discovered references stretching back thousands of years through Greek philosophy, biblical traditions, Gnostic teachings, and sacred sites such as the Hagia Sophia in Istanbul. In this episode, I share that remarkable encounter and explore how Sophia appears symbolically through the Tarot, particularly in cards such as The High Priestess, Temperance, The Star, Justice, and The World. I also discuss the relationship between wisdom, truth, awakening, and the challenge of seeing beyond illusion in our modern world. Whether you interpret this experience psychologically, spiritually, archetypically, or symbolically, my hope is that it encourages you to reflect on your own relationship with wisdom, intuition, and truth. At the end of the episode, I perform a Tarot reading exploring a central question: How can an ordinary person access the wisdom of Sophia in the modern world? Topics discussed: • The Sophia encounter • Divine Wisdom in ancient traditions • Sophia and the Tarot • Truth versus illusion • The Hermit's journey of awakening • Spiritual discernment in modern society • Personal truth and self-discovery • Tarot reading: Accessing Divine Wisdom Thank you for listening. Hero's Journey: The Return podcast

Hero's Journey: The Return What was all the struggle for? Why do we endure hardship, face uncertainty, and push through life's most difficult transitions? In the final installment of the Hero's Journey series, we explore Joseph Campbell's powerful concept of The Return—the stage where the hero comes home carrying a gift earned through experience. The journey changes the person. The return changes the world. Drawing from my own experiences in recovery, nursing, travel, and spiritual exploration, I reflect on the lessons, wisdom, and insights that emerge when we cross life's thresholds and discover who we are becoming. In this episode we explore: • Joseph Campbell's Return Phase • Bringing the gift back to the community • Why suffering can become a source of wisdom • Recovery as a transformational journey • Courage, determination, and perseverance • Guides, mentors, and unexpected teachers • The value hidden within difficult experiences • Sharing what we have learned with others Whether your journey began through addiction, illness, loss, spiritual awakening, education, career change, or personal crisis, every meaningful transformation offers an opportunity to bring something back. Wisdom. Compassion. Understanding. Service. The Hero's Journey is not complete when we overcome our challenges. It is complete when we return and offer what we have learned to others. All that suffering. All that growth. All that pain. Was not in vain. Threshold → Map → Integration Real Moments. Real Insight. Hero's Journey: Crossing the Threshold podcast

🎙️ Hero's Journey: Crossing the Threshold What happens after the call to change? In the second installment of the Hero's Journey series, we explore one of the most important stages of transformation: Crossing the Threshold. The old world has been left behind, but the new world is not yet understood. This stage is often marked by uncertainty, fear, confusion, and doubt. Yet it is also the point where mentors, guides, structure, and opportunities for growth begin to appear. Drawing from my own recovery journey, I share stories of the early days of transformation, including the role of mentors, the importance of structure, and the lessons learned from those who had already walked the path before me. In this episode we explore: • Crossing the Threshold • Why change requires action, not just intention • The role of mentors and guides • Structure, boundaries, and accountability • Recovery as a model of transformation • Symbolic systems as tools for orientation • Courage in the face of uncertainty • Trusting the process when the destination is unclear Joseph Campbell taught that every hero encounters guides and helpers along the way. Whether through recovery programs, spiritual communities, teachers, books, or life experience, support often appears when we commit ourselves to change. The map does not remove the challenge. The map provides orientation. The old world is left behind. The new world is not yet understood. Threshold → Map → Integration Real Moments. Real Insight. Awakening: The Hero's Journey podcast

What is a spiritual awakening? Is it a single event, a mystical experience, or something much deeper? In this episode of the Soul Awakens Series, I explore awakening as a process of transformation rather than a moment of enlightenment. Drawing from my own journey through addiction recovery, Carl Jung's concept of individuation, and Joseph Campbell's Hero's Journey, we examine how profound change often begins when the old way of living no longer works. Together we explore: • The signs of spiritual awakening • Why suffering often precedes transformation • The Call to Adventure and Crossing the Threshold • Synchronicity and meaningful coincidence • Recovery as a pathway to awakening • Life events that can trigger transformation • Family patterns and inherited beliefs • The search for authenticity, meaning, and purpose • Awakening as a lifelong process of growth Whether your threshold came through addiction, illness, grief, trauma, relationship challenges, career changes, or simply a growing sense that your life no longer fits, this episode offers a framework for understanding what may be unfolding beneath the surface. Awakening is not about becoming someone else. It is about becoming more fully yourself. Threshold → Map → Integration Real Moments. Real Insight.
