First, downsides: to be fair, none of the hosts seem to know a ton about Rider. Many of them are clearly interested, and the primary host is somewhat knowledgeable, but nobody seems to really have it down (which is generally fine). Also the audio quality sin't wonderful and I believe it's recorded over teleconferencing. Lastly, and this might just be me, but they generally can't pronounce any Japanese words, especially names, correctly.
Other than that, everyone has an awesome attitude, they're clearly having fun, and they're engaging in some genuine depth on the show. There's a heaby recap, but since most episodes are about 10 and 20 year old series, that seems reasonable. For the newer series, they do seem to shorten that segment. The hosts play extremely well together, and have a great feeling of familial comfort. Overall, everything on these episodes, even with guest hosts, really clicks and works well. No intensely downbeat email segments, no wanky musings, and no egos. This is the podcast I've wanted for years and could never find.
What I'd like to see in the future: speculation about future series, more episoes covered per podcast, more and different guests, and specials covering related materials like side-films or references in other series. Most importantly; just keep going, and thank you for this show.
