    JUGGERNAUT RADIO - 2012 "RAP-UP" SHOW

    2012 came and went! Much like the Mayan prophesied end of days for Planet Earth. So here we are in 2013! What changes did we see in Hip Hop? Not many. But amidst the continuing mediocrity of music and madness that presently permeates the airwaves, I was able to put together a noteworthy playlist of Hip Hop crossing all genres and types. Artists like Big Boi, Sean Price, Lupe Fiasco, E40 and Too $hort all came with their best efforts to pen 2012 as not being a total loss to what makes Hip Hop still one of the most musically creative art forms that influence society today. So... as I always say.... DOWNLOAD/LISTEN/REFLECT ...and of course, let Skillz once again wrap up the year for us.

    When the year 2000 came around, Hip Hop took a long look at itself and found things had indeed changed. Those artists that came out in the 80s and early 90s were soon looked upon as the OGs and the music started to draw more attention to itself instead of the issues that was prevalent on the minds of the majority. Anthems abound. Art imitated life even more. And the art itself would start to meander into "shallow" waters (read: watered down hip hop). Fortunately, there were still artists that blazed the charts with great integrity like Dead Prez, Ghostface Killah, Del Tha Funkee Homosapien and Reflection Eternal (Talib and HiTek).
