    Episode 9: Cali•Ventures! cultivating community

    I traveled to Los Angeles for a guest spot on @lestalkradio with @chelleychellesig and to connect with soooooo many inspiring and dope asf queer womxn of color. These folks are curating spaces for a demographic that often finds it hard to just BE in the spaces available, and to be more wholly understood. In addition to recounting my charmed visit, I delve deeply into a shorty story in the "Bloodchild" collection, called The Evening and the Morning And the Night. It's a reading of an hour and some, so skip to the last segment if you're not up for that just yet.

    Episode 8: Love in the Spaces Between

    Today, an answer to Question 2 of 30: Why so Distant? A listener in know personally asked this question weeks ago, and in answering, being the most trasnparant and vulnerable, I came to compose this sort of love letter to someone special. An ode to who and what they are to me, an ode to women who love women, and an ode to love in the Grey Area. This is also the first appearance of our Unicorn Tales segment! Much poetry discussed and digested.

    Episode 6: Steampunk Stories

    This time we're getting wayyy mystical, fantastical even!Getting into the sci-fi genre dear to my heart, with a FULL READING(be prepared, I won't stop to comment during) of the short story "Some Fortunate Future Day", by Cassandra Clare, from the Steampunk Anthology edited by Kelly Link & Gavin J. Grant. We explore the ethics of time travel, implications of certain technologies, and the nature of time itself. We also have a reading of what's called Equinox Prayer from Seed Lynn (@seedlynn) that was to earth-shaking for me to pass up reading aloud!
