    Just Roll Tape 65 (It's No Secret - Hamlin Avenue Boyz)

Whenever we’re together or on our own and moving around the Southside of the city with broad shoulders meeting with folks who follow the Boyz’ HAB Podcast, that question inevitably comes up.  Well, honestly, we Boyz have just been living and doing our thing.  Unfortunately, our thing has not included stops by the Homan Studio for some recording time in quite some time.  That is until now.  Fortunately, the Homan Studio remains a pretty active place.   Other recording artists and projects continue to occupy time in the studio whether or not we Boyz can be found.  With hours of raw conversation still in the can from prior recording sessions and now new studio time scheduled; the Boyz have rediscovered that sometimes time away produces delicious experiences that definitely fuel creative conversations.  Well that and input from their studio consultant Jack Herer.  60% of the time Jack Herer’s input helps every time.     Often, before The Hamlin Avenue Boyz even begin to ‘roll tape’ in the Homan Studio - Vince and Edward will essentially just b******t-a-bit to get the conversational juices flowing. While there is usually a clearly identified starting point Where the Boyz will signal the booth to ‘roll tape’; many times the tape has been running since the Boyz entered the control room headed to the recording area of the studio. All happening while there is cool music, usually selected by the engineer, playing in the distant background.  BTW - That very music playing in the background can at times influence what conversational direction the Boyz sometimes choose to take. It may also sometimes show up as the soundtrack backdrop or bed for the segment. This b******t-a-bit period has produced so many moments over the years that the entire Hamlin Avenue Boyz Podcast Team are all usually glad they got it captured.  All of the tracks that comprise “Inside My Head”, the 16th album of podcast segments produced by The Hamlin Avenue Boyz, were all born from b******t-a-bit beginnings.  Every one of them.     How many times throughout your life have you been presented with the question “Would you”?  For most of us, it is probably at least a few times if not more.  This type of question can come up during conversations with any number of friends, family, strangers, listeners to the Hamlin Avenue Boyz Podcast, and life directions covering a whole host of subjects and situations.  Well, as is sometimes the case, Da Boyz loves to entertain hypotheticals in conversation just about more than anything else.  The reason?  They just love (or would prefer) putting themselves in awkward situations in the laboratory (aka the studio) versus real life.  I mean who wouldn’t?
