Boohbahs, Seatbelts, And The Fart That Lied

Our first guest steps into the Just Us Talking group chat in real life, and we do not go easy on him. Daniel joins us for a birthday-picked lineup of topics from Tyree, starting with a “most embarrassing moment” ritual that instantly becomes the benchmark for every future guest. After the chaos, we wander into the kind of honest, slightly unhinged nostalgia that makes you text your friends mid-listen. We debate gross childhood habits, argue about pool behavior, and unlock a shared memory vault of weird kids shows growing up, from Boohbahs and Teletubbies energy to Fraggle Rock, Oobie, LazyTown, Yo Gabba Gabba, and more. If you’re into nostalgic podcasts, PBS Kids throwbacks, and the question “why was that allowed on TV,” you’ll feel seen. Then the conversation turns grounded and meaningful as we share favorite Bible stories and scripture, including Jonah, Mary Magdalene, Moses, Rahab, Gideon, the bleeding woman, and the friends who bring the paralyzed man to Jesus. We talk about faith, forgiveness, courage, and the kind of friendships that carry you when you can’t get to hope on your own. We wrap with favorite summer memories, theme park takes, and a rapid-fire “summer themed hot seat”. If you laughed, cringed, or got encouraged, subscribe so you don’t miss the next hang, share this with a friend who loves story time, and leave a review to help more people find Just Us Talking. Kennedy's Hot Seat Episode

Kennedy finally takes the hot seat, and what starts as a goofy “what shoe are you” question turns into a full personality map. We talk about her real work life in early childhood education, and why she’s aiming for kindergarten through second grade once she finishes her degree. If you’re curious about teaching, childcare, and the behind-the-scenes reality of working with toddlers, she gives the kind of answers you only get when someone is being both funny and honest. Then we let the conversation do what it does best: swerve into the stories that somehow explain everything. Kennedy shares the childhood creativity that still shows up in her life, from building forts and makeshift “inventions” to taking on the big-sister organizer role. We get her desert-island movie picks (rom-com lovers, you’re welcome), including While You Were Sleeping, Fools Rush In, and The Hunger Games. And yes, we go there on irrational fears, including lockjaw, tetanus panic, and the very specific nightmare of losing her left arm. We also hit travel and identity: why Belgium completely surprised her, what makes food feel authentic when you’re abroad, favorite animals, and her Canadian side, including famous Canadians and spicy takes on Quebec. We wrap with what she hopes people see in her, what younger Kennedy would be proud of, and what matters most right now: faith, family, and the future she’s building. Subscribe for more, share this with a friend who loves a good hot seat, and leave a review telling us your most irrational fear. Send us Fan Mail Support the show

    The Hot Seat ft. Morgan

Morgan is in the hot seat, and we waste absolutely no time getting to the stories. What starts as goofy “favorite bird” energy turns into a fast-moving chain of questions that somehow produces both the funniest moment of the season and a genuinely grounding take on how to live. If you love a friendship podcast with playful roasting, and the kind of humor that feels like a group chat come to life, you’re in the right place.  We talk childhood trouble (including the unfairness of getting grounded for being funny), the phase Morgan went way too hard in (beanies and chokers, even when it’s 80 degrees), and the moment gravity publicly humbled her in a grocery store. From there we hit fantasy worlds, school dance lore, dumb ways to get in trouble, and the unexpectedly emotional attachments that can sneak up on you, like crying over the anglerfish video or grieving a tiny car plant left behind during a trade-in.  Then the questions get more “adult” without losing the bit: red flags, pet peeves, the air guitar ick, reality TV picks, and the most grown-up thing that still feels like a scam (looking at you, personal property tax). We close with Morgan’s outlook on life: prioritize the right things, keep your faith and your people close, and still remember it’s not that serious. Life can be joyful and full of whimsy if we let it.  If this made you laugh or hit a little too close to home, subscribe, share it with a friend, and leave a review. David's Turn In The Hot Seat

David’s in the hot seat, and the questions go from harmless to unexpectedly revealing fast. One minute we’re talking about small things that instantly annoy him and the weird habits he can’t quit, and the next we’re unpacking what it’s like to grow up moving around as a homeschooled military kid who never had the “typical” friend group experience.  We dig into the stuff people really want to know when they’re getting to know someone: what he thought adult life would look like, when he first felt independent, and how his job history shaped him. David walks us through everything from restaurant work to cleaning cars to long-distance car deliveries and where he’s landed now, plus what he loved and what he never wants to do again. If you’re into real-life career paths that aren’t linear, this one will feel familiar. Then we hit the classics: Spider-Man. David explains why Spider-Man is still his lifelong obsession, not just as nostalgia, but because the character stays human and relatable. We also get his dating “type,” his biggest red flags, and his biggest dealbreakers, followed by a ridiculous but oddly practical zombie apocalypse plan that involves barricading inside Home Depot and living off whatever survives the end of the world. We close with rapid fire favorites, what he’s proud of that people don’t usually see, and a real moment about his faith journey and what he wants to be remembered for. Listen now, then tell us what we should’ve asked David next. If you like the show, subscribe, share it with a friend, and leave a review. Send us Fan Mail Support the show

    Tyree In The Hot Seat

Tyree sits in the hot seat and we waste absolutely no time getting personal. What starts as a simple friend group podcast interview quickly turns into a fast, funny, surprisingly honest look at who Tyree is when she’s put on the spot. We kick things off with our latest Spotify listens, then jump straight into the kind of questions that expose the truth: what people assume about her, her most random trait, what makes her irrationally angry, and the comfort-movie picks she’d take to a desert island.  Then Tyree’s career journey takes over in the best way. She walks us through a resume, from Claire’s to summer camp to restaurants to insurance to orthodontics to banking. Tyree also shares what she does now in public schools, including enrollment support connected to foster care kids and foreign exchange students, plus helping with disciplinary hearing processes.  The chaos peaks when a cockroach literally falls into the recording and we all lose it, but the heart of the conversation lands right after. Tyree talks about faith, what she would tell her high school self, how she’s trying to build discipline, get off her phone, read more, and be more present. And right at the end, she drops the most unexpected fun fact: she’s into birdwatching, has a bird app, and has strong opinions on favorite birds.  If you laughed, cringed, or related a little too hard, subscribe, share this with a friend, and leave a review. Then come talk to us on Instagram and tell us your most embarrassing moment. Send us Fan Mail Support the show
