Ep. 28. "Making the Tough Calls: When and How to Enforce Boundaries with Clients"

Ep. 28. "Making the Tough Calls: When and How to Enforce Boundaries with Clients"

Welcome to another episode of JZ Unfiltered, where we support wellness professionals in taking care of themselves both in their personal and professional lives. In this episode, we're discussing setting and maintaining boundaries. As a wellness professional, you know how important it is to take care of yourself if you want to take care of others. And yet, it can be challenging to say no or set firm boundaries when clients or colleagues ask for more than you're willing or able to give.
Jenna shares a personal story of feeling challenged in maintaining boundaries when a client asked her to babysit. She realized that this person wasn't taking her profession seriously and was taking advantage of her kind nature. It's important to recognize when clients are crossing boundaries and to be firm in saying no to requests that don't fit within your scope of work.
Mental and physical exhaustion are signs that you're reaching your limits and need to take a step back. Whether it's taking a break, asking for help, or setting boundaries, it's important to put your well-being first. Jena suggests reflecting on where and why you may compromise your boundaries, despite knowing that you cannot do everything. Is it pressure to please others or fear of losing clients? It's crucial to understand why you may be feeling this way so you can take steps to address those feelings and set clear boundaries moving forward.

Liking this even more

I’m grooving on your fresh frame of mind and I hope this gives you some relief and a sweet road into the future. You’ve been quiet for so long I was shocked there was a newly released podcast.
I wrote this back when you restarted the pod cast. I’m not a teacher but I have a love for Pilates. You have allowed me to see the value in diversity of teachers. I spent 10 years cloistered in a classical studio. After the pandemic things changed and I stumbled upon some fantastic teachers who are more broad minded. I feel freedom.

Refreshing

Loving the brutal honesty and dedication to staying true to yourself. Questioning why we do what we do is always good. Thank you for keeping us all inspired and thinking.
