    The New Normal

    2 Timothy 1:7 AMP “For God did not give us a spirit of timidity or cowardice or fear, but [He has given us a spirit] of power and love and of sound judgment and personal discipline [abilities that result in a calm, well-balanced mind and self-control].” So much has been said about the new normal: The way churches, businesses, and governments operate, and how we direct our personal lives. Though we certainly should learn from the fiasco of the last few years, we must not allow fear to become our “new normal.” If we allow it, fear can easily infiltrate our thinking and successfully rewire how we approach Scripture and faith in God. We must not allow anything to exalt itself over the Word of God. Cast down the imaginations, thoughts, activities, and speeches that have their purpose in manipulating, short-circuiting, redirecting, or diverting our focus from Jesus.
