Lucas Wacha--Tampa Bay Vipers
In this special episode of KYPD, Coach Taylor talks with Lucas Wacha, starting linebacker for the Tampa Bay Vipers and former Outside Linebacker Coach for Pleasant Grove High School with Coach Taylor in Texarkana, Texas. Wacha talks about his path through the game of football which includes four years at Wyoming, training camp with the Dallas Cowboys, a season and a half in the CFL, a season coaching high school football, and his current position with the Vipers. Wacha also talks about life in the XFL, including his relationship with Vipers Defensive Coordinator and coaching legend Jerry Glanville, and Tampa's 4-2-5 defense.
Kevin Drones--Shadow Creek High School
In this episode, Coach Drones and Coach Taylor discuss the Shark's unbelievable two year run that has seen Shadow Creek go 31-1 with back-to-back State Title appearances and a 5A DI championship in 2019. Coach Drones then talks about what it's like to be the son of a coach and also coach his son who happens to be the Shark's dynamic Quarterback. Finally, we discuss Shadow Creek's odd front, stopping the run, and some of Coach Drones' favorite drills.
Andy Clark--Aledo High School
Andy Clark, Defensive Line Coach at Aledo High School joins us to discuss the dynamics of coaching at a program where the expectation is state championship or bust. The Bearcats are have won a record 9 state championships, including three of the past four 5A DII titles with a record of 62-2 over the past four years. Coach Clark and Coach Taylor then do some back and forth and talk TEX stunt technique, transitional pass rush, and a new technique the Bearcats have been toying with to help in the run game and defending RPO's.

Rex Norris, the Vice President of football programming, and the executive director of tackling certification, stops by the podcast for an important discussion on tackling and what ATAVUS is doing to teach safer and more effective tackling. We talk about Rex's extensive background as a football and rugby coach, the mission of ATAVUS and the tools, resources, and curriculum it provides for football programs across the country.

The Rams won the 5A Div. I state title this past season, and Coach Croft talks about his team's run and what makes Owasso so special. Then, we get into the Ram's four down front and how they incorporate multiple looks while keeping the same personnel on the field.

Stephen F. Austin Defensive Ends Coach Caid Faske joins us to talk about his rise from student coach to landing his current job in Nacogdoches. A 2019 AFCA "35 Under 35" recipient, Coach Faske talks about how he develops his pass rushers and how the 'Jacks employ twists and line movements to wreck havoc in the run game and get after the Quarterback.

Love the KYPD Podcast & all that Coach Ty Taylor brings with his own insight along with the big time guests he has and the big time content on each episode!! As an educator and DL coach out in San Diego, CA I have a huge respect for Texas football and being able to tap in with KYPD, it has become my favorite podcast out there and has helped me tremendously with improving personally and professionally. I’ve found myself listening to multiple episodes multiple times and playing the KYPD Podcast as often as I can in order to raise my game and utilize the knowledge and tools from top notch coaches in a state known for football.
