    The Unsolved Murder of David Carter

    On September 28, 2018, David Darnell Carter Sr. went to a high school football game to watch his teenage son play. A regular, ordinary evening spent supporting the family he adored. David was a devoted father, a hard worker at the Magna Seating Plant, and a well-loved presence in his Melvindale, Michigan community. When David failed to show up for work 2 days later or return calls over the next few days, his family knew something was wrong. Their worst fears were realized when his remains were discovered along Interstate 75 in Ohio. Investigators quickly identified a primary person of interest, his then-girlfriend Tamera, "Tammy" Williams. Who was briefly detained, but released pending further investigation. When the investigation finally caught up to her, fled, sparking a nationwide manhunt that continues to this day. Years later, despite a federal warrant and a spot on the U.S. Marshals Most Wanted list, Tamera remains at large, leaving a grieving family searching for closure and accountability.     The Unsolved Case of Brittany Locklear

    On the cold morning of January 7, 1998, 5-year-old Brittany Lynn Locklear stood at the end of her dirt driveway on Grainey Road in Hoke County, North Carolina, waiting for the elementary school bus. Her mother stepped inside their home for just a moment and when she returned, Brittany was gone. A neighbor reported witnessing a full-sized pickup truck slam on its brakes, an unknown man grabbed Brittany, and sped away. Within hours, a massive search effort uncovered her clothing discarded along a rural road. Tragically, the following afternoon, Brittany was discovered in a drainage ditch roughly three miles from her home. Decades later, despite DNA evidence, thousands of tips, and a suspect vehicle description, Brittany’s killer remains at large. In this episode, we examine the timeline of that January morning, the ongoing efforts by the Hoke County Sheriff's Office and the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation (NCSBI), and why investigators believe someone holds the final key to bringing closure to the Locklear family. Charlie was a U.S. Army veteran, a devoted father of eight, and a fixture in his community. He was the kind of man who gave free haircuts for back-to-school drives and never turned away anyone in need. Over a decade later, despite surveillance images of a person of interest and a vehicle connected to the scene, Charlie’s murder remains unsolved. But that night, she stepped out of her grandmother's apartment to meet a friend named "Travis" and was never seen again. Her phone stopped responding, her belongings were left behind, and a close-knit community was left searching for answers.     The Disappearance of Shelton Sanders

    On June 19, 2001, 25-year-old University of South Carolina student Shelton Sanders vanished without a trace while planning a friend's bachelor party in Columbia, South Carolina. In this episode, we take a look at who Shelton truly was. He is remembered by his family as a loving father figure to his younger sister, a devoted son, and a fiercely resilient young man who overcame third-degree burns to return to college. We walk through the initial 2001 timeline of his disappearance, a trial, and where the search stands today. We also honor the incredible resilience of Shelton’s family. His father, William, his mother, Peggy, and his sister, Wilveria, have spent the last 25 years fighting to find Shelton and bring Shelton home for a proper burial.
