I Criticized Israel… Then I Was Called an Antisemite

In this episode of KGYT, I get personal. Growing up Colombian in New York City, I learned early what it felt like to be judged because of the actions of people I had absolutely nothing to do with. Colombia had Pablo Escobar, drug cartels, guerrillas and narcos — and somehow those stereotypes followed ordinary Colombians like me. Years later, I found myself on the other side of a very different accusation. After reposting a clip of Joe Rogan and Jewish-American comedian and political commentator Dave Smith criticizing Israel, a parent from my martial arts school accused me of being antisemitic. She even told her son, who was one of my students, that I hated Jewish people and hated him because he was Jewish. But I never said that. So this episode asks a question that goes far beyond Israel: When does criticism of a government, organization or individual become hatred toward an entire group of people? Colombians aren't responsible for everything Colombian cartels have done. Americans aren't responsible for every decision made by the United States government. Jewish people aren't collectively responsible for decisions made by the Israeli government. So why do we sometimes treat criticism of a country, government, religion or political movement as an attack against everyone who shares that identity? We talk about tribalism, stereotypes, collective guilt, Israel, antisemitism, my experiences growing up Colombian in NYC, and why criticizing wrongdoing should never require condemning an entire people. This isn't about telling you what to think. It's about asking where we draw the line. 👇 I want your opinion: Can you criticize Israel without being antisemitic? And when does legitimate criticism actually cross that line? Colombia Is Burning… And Israel Just Dropped the Visa Requirement

Colombia is dealing with devastating fires across the country — but while one major story is unfolding, several others deserve our attention.  On this episode of KGYT, I talk about the fires affecting Colombia and its fragile ecosystems, and then turn to the rapidly changing relationship between Colombia and Israel. Beginning September 1, Colombia and Israel are set to mutually eliminate visa requirements.  But that announcement made me look back at a disturbing story from 2018, when Colombian authorities investigated a network involving Israeli nationals accused of organizing sex-tourism operations involving the exploitation of minors.  Then we follow the money. The United States has officially crossed **$40 TRILLION in national debt**.  And instead of pretending this is simply a Republican problem or a Democratic problem, I ask a different question: **How did BOTH sides help get America here? ** Finally, we talk tariffs.  American consumers were told tariffs would mean higher prices — and in many cases businesses passed those costs along. Now enormous tariff refunds are flowing back to corporations.  So if consumers already absorbed the cost… **who should benefit when that tariff money comes back?**  🔥 Colombia's fires  🇨🇴 Colombia & Israel relations  ✈️ Visa-free travel  💰 $40 trillion U.S. national debt  🏛️ Republicans AND Democrats  📈 Tariffs, consumers & corporate refunds  This isn't about defending the left or the right. It's about asking who ultimately pays for the decisions governments and corporations make.  Let me know what you think in the comments.  **Who has done more damage to America's finances — the left, the right… or both?**  #KGYT #Colombia #USDebt #NationalDebt #Tariffs #Israel #ColombiaNews #Economy #Politics #Podcast

Why Are Americans Leaving America? | KGYT 67

Why are so many Americans leaving the United States?  For decades, the conversation has focused on people immigrating to America. But what happens when Americans become the immigrants?  In this episode of KGYT, I explore a growing trend that isn't talked about nearly enough. We discuss the rising cost of achieving the American Dream, why homeownership has become increasingly difficult, how COVID may have changed the way people think about where they live, and why more Americans are choosing to build their lives abroad.  We also take a look at some of the most popular countries Americans are relocating to and ask an important question:  Is this simply a new chapter in the history of migration, or is something much bigger happening?  Whether you agree or disagree, my goal is to start a thoughtful conversation—not tell you what to think.  Topics Covered:  Why Americans are leaving the U.S.  The housing affordability crisis  Did COVID permanently change where people want to live?  The top countries attracting American expats  Cost of living vs. quality of life  Is the American Dream changing?  A historical look at migration and opportunity  💬 I'd love to hear your thoughts. If money weren't the deciding factor... Would you stay where you live today, move somewhere else in your country, or relocate to another country entirely? Why?  Join the conversation in the comments. 👍 If you enjoy thoughtful discussions on economics, immigration, current events, and life as an American living abroad, please Like, Subscribe, and Share. The Johan Guerrero Case Exposed a Bigger Problem Nobody Wants to Talk About | KGYT 66

The tragic death of Johan Guerrero has sparked intense debate across the United States. Was he truly a danger to the public, or is there a much bigger conversation that we're avoiding? In this episode of the KGYT Podcast, I look beyond the headlines and explore one of the most important issues facing modern nations: people. Why do developed countries need immigrants? What happens when birth rates fall? How does a nation's debt affect its need for taxpayers? And why do so many people leave everything behind chasing the American Dream, only to discover a life filled with debt instead of opportunity? This isn't just a conversation about one incident—it's about economics, demographics, immigration, and the future of countries around the world. Topics covered: • The Johan Guerrero case and the public safety debate • Immigration beyond politics • Why nations compete for workers • Declining birth rates and shrinking populations • National debt and the importance of taxpayers • Is the American Dream changing? • What the future could look like for the United States and other developed nations I'd love to hear your thoughts. Do countries need more immigrants to survive economically, or should they focus on different solutions? Join the conversation respectfully in the comments. 🎙️ Subscribe for more discussions on current events, Colombia, the United States, economics, and global affairs.
