    In this conversation, Brad shares his experiences in Afghanistan during his deployment as a pilot. He talks about the geography and surrounding countries of Afghanistan, the local communities and compounds, and the safety on base. Brad also discusses the barbershops on the military installations and the unique haircuts he got from different barbers. He describes the beauty of Afghanistan and expresses his interest in visiting again in the future. takeaways Afghanistan is located in a region surrounded by Iran, Pakistan, and Uzbekistan. The local communities in Afghanistan live in compounds made of mud brick walls called colats. Safety on base in Afghanistan varied, with some installations having large perimeter walls and others being more exposed to potential threats. Afghanistan has beautiful areas with rivers, lakes, and greenery, despite being known as a desert. Brad expresses his interest in visiting Afghanistan again in the future.
