    Ripping the Band-Aid Off

Kimble set one goal for 2026: finish it all. The book. The podcast. The house. The garden. The friends. And — while she was at it — a new doctor in a new city. That last one is where this episode goes. What follows is six months of scans, three insurance denials, two panels of specialists, one cyst named Orangelo, and a single very long word that ends in "-noma." Kimble walks you through all of it the only way she knows how: sideways, out of order, and with a detour to Walgreens for the right Band-Aid. This is the most personal episode of Kimble-ing so far. It's also, somehow, one of the funniest. Kimble breaks down what she's been told, what nobody can tell her yet, why "Kimble math" turns a 60% into an 85%, and what it actually looks like to build joy while you're stuck in limbo waiting on somebody else's phone call. She's had cancer twice before. She's beaten it twice before. And she's not done yet. In this episode: Why ripping the Band-Aid off fast is not — and never will be — Kimble's styleThe 2026 annual goal (she does not do New Year's resolutionsThe liver babies, and how a denied CT scan turned into a crafty workaroundThe word you should never, ever Google before you talk to your doctorKimble math: how a salesperson reads a survival statisticWhat "we're going to watch it" really means, and why limbo is the hardest room to sit inMaking joy on purpose when the plan gets taken away from youSend me a text Support the show If this episode resonates with you, follow the show and share it with someone who might want to come Kimble-ing too. WTF Is Kimble-ing? Living Your Best Life in Small Moments

What exactly is Kimble-ing? In this first episode, Kimble shares the story behind the word that eventually became a way of life — and now, a podcast. What started as a nickname for her habit of curating spontaneous adventures with friends slowly evolved into something bigger: a philosophy about living intentionally, embracing curiosity, and finding joy in the small, everyday moments that make a life meaningful.  But the journey to Kimble-ing didn’t happen overnight. Kimble reflects on the experiences that shaped her perspective - from building businesses with her husband during the 2008 recession, to navigating unexpected loss, and ultimately beginning a new chapter of life in coastal North Carolina. Along the way, she shares why the little things matter more than we realize — and why curating moments of joy, curiosity, and connection can transform how we live. Kimble-ing isn’t about luxury or excess. It’s about presence, play, and the pursuit of everyday magic.  And this is just the beginning. In this episode: The story behind how Kimble-ing became a verbWhy intentional experiences matter more than expensive onesHow loss, change, and reinvention shaped the Kimble-ing philosophyMoving from Nashville to Wilmington and starting a new chapterWhat listeners can expect from future Kimble-ing adventures Send me a text Support the show If this episode resonates with you, follow the show and share it with someone who might want to come Kimble-ing too.
