75 | Rebirth: What Nobody Tells You About Becoming Who You Actually Are

A real rebirth requires a death first. In this episode Lesley shares one of the most personal and vulnerable stories she has told on this podcast. Coming up on one year of sobriety, fresh off a life-changing Advanced Energetics Retreat in San Diego, she opens up about what rebirth actually looks like, not as a concept or a metaphor, but as a lived, somatic, cellular experience in the body. She shares her shame seeker, a part of herself she has been quietly doing deep healing work with all year and what it felt like when that density finally completed its cycle and left her body at the retreat. She shares the walk on the beach that followed. The words she heard. And what it means to step into a new chapter not as someone new, but as someone finally returning home to who she has always been. This is not a self-improvement episode. This is a resurrection story. This episode is for the woman who knows something in her is ready to shift but doesn't have language for it yet. The one who has been in the void and doesn't know how much longer she can hold it. The one who is terrified of what comes after the letting go. In this episode, we explore: · The identity she wore for 20 years and what it cost to lay it down · The Advanced Energetics Retreat in San Diego — the sacred community, and the density that lifted · A vulnerable share about a part of her she has been healing all year · What rebirth feels like in the body, somatic, cellular, happening below the neck · Rebirth is not getting a new version of yourself, it is returning to who you actually are · A real rebirth requires a real death first, surrender, the void, the letting go of the old identity · You cannot receive new life while white-knuckling the old one · Transformation that only happens in the mind cannot reach where the wound actually lives · John 15:12 — the pruning, the cutting off, and what grows from it · You cannot miss your rebirth, if it is at the center of the will of God, it will keep inviting you back Listener Reflection What in you is ready to be released? What keeps pressing forward that you have been afraid to let come to the surface? Ready to go deeper? This is the kind of work we do together in 1:1 coaching, learning to hear, learning to discern, learning to trust the specific language God is using to reach you. 74 | Fear, Chronic Pain, and the Power to Heal

Most people spend their lives managing symptoms. Tina Brown helps them do something different. In this conversation Lesley sits down with Tina Brown, a Salt Lake City healing coach, breathwork facilitator, and somatic guide, for one of the most honest and embodied conversations the show has had. They talk about fear, chronic pain, the physical addiction to adrenaline, and what it actually looks like to invite God into the places that hurt most. Tina shares her own story, starting in 12-step recovery, moving through a breathwork session that cracked her open, and eventually building a practice that helps people prepare for surgery and navigate chronic pain with tools that go far beyond what modern medicine alone can offer. This episode is for someone who is tired of managing her pain, physical or emotional. The one who keeps running into fear and not moving through it. The one who suspects there is another way but does not quite know how to find it. In this episode: · How breathwork opened Tina's spiritual journey and led her to somatic coaching · The physical addiction to fear — cortisol, adrenaline, and why the body doesn't know another way · Fear actually increases physical pain — and what to do about it · Why we run between two fears instead of walking through either one · How inviting God into the pain changes the experience of it · The feelings wheel — and why living in only a quarter of your emotions is costing you · Pre-surgery somatic work — and a 38% reduction in opioid use post-surgery · Pain pathways, chronic pain, and creating new neural routes · You are the medicine. God holds what you cannot carry alone. 73 | Never Waste a Good Trigger

The thing that just set you off? Don't waste it. In this episode Lesley reframes everything you were taught about being triggered. A trigger is not proof that you are weak, too sensitive, or broken. It is information. It is your body pointing directly to something that has been sitting inside as an ember from something unhealed, waiting for the right spark to ignite the whole thing again.   She walks you through a 6-step somatic process for moving through a trigger, not around it. From noticing the sensation in the body, to following it back to its original source, to completing the somatic cycle, to alchemy, where the same spark lands and there is nothing left to burn. This episode is for the woman who keeps finding herself in the same fire. The one who reacts and then hates herself for it. The one who has been told she is too much, too reactive, too sensitive. The one who is ready to stop managing the flame and finally go back to the source. In this episode, we explore: · Why being triggered is not weakness it is the most precise map you have to the healing waiting to be discovered · Triggers are never about the present circumstance, they always point to something that happened in the past · What your nervous system is actually doing in fight, flight, fawn, or freeze · The difference between reacting and responding and why the pause is where the healing lives · How to follow the trigger back to the original core wound or core memory · What we don't move through we carry, what we carry becomes density stored in the body · What healed looks like - same spark, nothing left to burn · How to have the conversation with someone who triggered you and why that is healing too Key reflections from this episode: · "A trigger is not a problem. It is an invitation into the work." · "It is never about the present circumstance. It is always about something that happened in the past." · "The trigger is the fire. The one that has been an ember sitting in the body long enough." · "What once ignited the wildfire has nothing left to burn. That is not suppression. That is alchemy." · "Because it has been met. Witnessed. Processed. Released." Listener Reflection Is there an ember in your body right now, a trigger that keeps igniting the same fire? That is ready to be met, witnessed, and finally released? You don't have to have the answer. Just let yourself get curious about where the oldest version of this feeling lives. Ready to go deeper? This is the kind of work we do together in 1:1 coaching, learning to hear, learning to discern, learning to trust the specific language God is using to reach you. 72 | Where Are You Missing Out on God?

What if God has been speaking to you this entire time and you just didn't know which language to listen for? From a story of an encounter Lesley goes deeper into something most of us were never taught. In Greek, there are three distinct words all translated as 'word' in English. And understanding the difference changes everything about how you receive God. This episode is an open-handed, open-minded invitation. If you come from a religious background or carry wounds from religion, this is not a theological lecture. It is a permission slip to wonder if God has been closer than you realized, speaking in ways you were told didn't count. This episode is for the woman who has been calling her God-moments coincidences. The one who felt something but talked herself out of it. The one who wonders if God is even interested in the ordinary moments of her life. In this episode, we explore: · The breakdown and the actual meaning of the word “word” · Graphe — the written word of God. Scripture. Sacred, foundational, the map. · Logos — the living voice of God. Not past tense. Active and present right now. · Rhema — the personal, specific, in-the-moment revelation from the Holy Spirit. For you. Right now. · Why Western Christianity collapsed all three into one — and what we lost in the translation Key reflections from this episode: · "The Scripture is the map. But the map is not the journey." · "The word of God is living and active. Not past tense. Present." · "Rhema is the living language most of us were never taught to listen for." · "If it carries shame, fear, or guilt — it is not coming from God." · "What if the language of the sacred is wider than you were taught?" Listener Reflection Where have you been experiencing God and calling it something else?  Close your eyes if it feels safe to do so. Take a few cleansing breaths. And ask yourself, where in your life has God been trying to speak to you that you have been dismissing as coincidence, imagination, or too small to count? A sign. A stranger. A sensation. A synchronicity. What if that wasn't nothing? Ready to go deeper? This is the kind of work we do together in 1:1 coaching, learning to hear, learning to discern, learning to trust the specific language God is using to reach you. 71 | Outgrowing Is Not Failure It Is Evidence of Growth

What do you do when the soil you were planted in can no longer sustain what you are becoming? This episode was recorded in real time,  not from a place of having arrived on the other side, but from the middle of the season itself. Lesley shares openly that she is in this right now. The outgrowing, the tilling, the disorienting in-between that most people are never taught how to navigate. We live in a culture that teaches us to fill the void, to cope with the unknown, to run back to what is familiar and comfortable. But what if the void is not absence? What if it is preparation? Through the lens of the soil and plant analogy, nervous system regulation, identity, faith, and personal unbecoming, this episode explores what it actually means to outgrow a container  and why the discomfort you feel is not evidence that something is wrong with you. It is evidence that you have grown. This episode is for the woman who feels herself pressing against the edges of a life that used to fit. The one who has outgrown something but has not yet named it. The one who keeps filling the void because the spaciousness feels unbearable. The one who is in the tilling season and does not know what will grow. In this episode, we explore: · What it means to outgrow a container and why it is evidence of growth, not failure · The tilling season - the in-between, the void, the no man's land · Why most of us are only taught to fill the void, not be in it · The safety in pressure vs. the discomfort of spaciousness · Why integration requires space and why we resist it · Galatians 6:9 — do not grow weary in planting good seeds · The void is not absence. It is preparation. · Spaciousness as exchange, what gets released must be replaced · Sacred belonging and the courage to leave where you no longer belong · The community that will hold the next version of you cannot find you if you are still performing for the approval of the last container Listener Reflection Is there a container in your life that you have outgrown but haven't named yet? Where do you feel the pressing? The edges? That is not a verdict. It is the beginning of an honest conversation with yourself and with God, about what you are becoming. Ready to stop navigating the tilling season alone? I have opened an intimate number of one-to-one coaching spaces — 12 weeks of deeply personal somatic healing work built entirely around you and your season. No curriculum, no predetermined path. Just sacred co-created space where your body leads and I hold the container. Book a connection call: tidycal.com/kindredjourney/connection Loved this episode? 70 | Rest Is a Posture Not a Practice

What if everything you were taught about rest is keeping you from it?  In this deeply personal episode, Lesley shares the quiet unraveling that happens when your identity has been built around performance, productivity, striving, and output  and your soul can no longer sustain the pace. After years of building a career, raising the bar, becoming a wife and mother, and trying to hold everything together inside a culture that glorifies exhaustion, she began asking a deeper question: How did we get here? This conversation explores the difference between resting from your life and living from a rested place. Through the lens of nervous system regulation, embodiment, faith, motherhood, and identity, we unpack the cultural conditioning that taught us rest is a reward  and the spiritual reframe that changes everything: In the Kingdom, we work from rest, not toward it. Lesley shares the story behind taking a month-long leave from her career, the discomfort of stepping away from performance, and the realization that true rest is not about doing less , it is about returning to who you are beneath striving. This episode is for the woman who is exhausted from trying to “rest correctly.” The woman whose nervous system no longer responds to productivity hacks, vacations, or checking boxes. The woman whose soul is asking for something deeper. In this episode, we explore: • Why modern culture normalizes collective unrest • The nervous system impact of constant performance and hypervigilance • The difference between performative rest and embodied rest• “Rest as reward” vs “rest as origin” • Why hustle produces output but rest produces fruit • The connection between identity, nervous system regulation, and Sabbath• Motherhood, capacity, and the invisible labor women carry • Rest as unbecoming and returning to your true self • How to begin practicing active, embodied rest in everyday life Key reflections from this episode: • “True rest is not recovery from your life. It is a posture within your life.” • “Our being informs our doing. Our doing should never determine our being.” • “Rest is not a reward. It is a requirement.” • “Hustle produces output, but rest produces fruit.” Listener Reflection Place one hand on your chest and ask yourself: “What would it feel like to do this next thing from a place of rest instead of striving?” Loved this episode? 69 | Absorbing Energy That Isn't Yours

What if some of what you've been carrying… was never yours to carry in the first place? In this deeply embodied conversation, we explore what it actually means to absorb energy that doesn’t belong to you  and why so many highly sensitive women have mistaken empathic overwhelm for anxiety, emotional instability, or “being too much.” This episode is for the woman who walks into a room and immediately feels the shift. The one who carries tension in her body that she cannot explain. The one who has spent her life managing the emotions of everyone around her without realizing she was doing it. Through the lens of nervous system regulation, somatic healing, and spiritual discernment, we unpack the difference between emotional sensitivity and energetic absorption  and why your attunement may not be a flaw at all, but a gift that simply needs direction. We talk about: What empathic absorption actually is and how the nervous system attunes to others Why highly sensitive women often carry emotions that aren’t theirs The “clench”  how the body signals dysregulation before the mind understands it How unfinished emotional cycles become stored in the body The difference between compassion and rescuing Why discernment begins in the body, not the mind The connection between somatic awareness and spiritual sensitivity A grounding practice to help you ask: Is this mine? This episode also explores the sacred tension of parenting, healing generational patterns, and learning how to hold space without absorbing what another person is experiencing. Because healing is not becoming less sensitive. It’s learning how to stay connected to yourself while remaining open to others. You were never too much. You were just carrying too much of what wasn’t yours. Scripture “And this is my prayer: that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight…” — Philippians 1:9 Integration Practice Pause and ask yourself: Was this feeling here before I entered this space? Notice what shifts in your body when you stop immediately identifying with every sensation you experience. Take a breath. Drop your shoulders. And let your exhale become permission to set something down. Listener Reflection Is there anything you are carrying right now that doesn't actually belong to you? What changes when you stop assuming every feeling in your body belongs to you? Loved this episode? 68 | Love Is Disruptive

What if everything that broke you open was actually love doing its most important work? In this episode Lesley goes back to one of the most disruptive seasons of her life, 18 months with no reprieve between them. Marriage, a move, an unexpected pregnancy, a health crisis, a c-section, and a month away from home holding everything alone. And she tells you what she knows now that she couldn't see then. She also talks about what it means to watch someone you love in the middle of a disruption they didn't ask for, and the particular kind of surrender that requires. In this episode: · Why the hardest season of your life might be the one love is with you through the most · Every major disruption in scripture is an invitation in disguise · Jesus is disruptive — and that is not a crisis. That is the invitation. · God never separates from us — we separate from Him · The difference between believing in something and experiencing something · Being held in the free fall — forced courage vs. chosen courage · Why relationship is the single most protective factor against the hard things Something to sit with: Where has love been most disruptive in your life — and where, looking back, can you see love in the disruption, even a thread of it?
