    Tonight I share my last episode in my podcast series - Know Role Models. My guest is Daniel Daylight. A proud Gamilaraay man who grew up in Sydney, with connections to the Gubbi Gubbi people. Daniel has played a big role in my life over the last couple of years, mentoring me, supporting me, and always encouraging me to connect and learn more about my culture. Daniel has worked hard in the criminal justice space, setting up the NSW Youth Koori Court, advocating to raise the age of criminal responsibility and currently leading the Creating Futures Justice Program at Weave.

He is a passionate dad who is focused on breaking cycles, navigating intergenerational trauma and building culturally strong, proud and resilient kids. Sam is a criminologist and senior public servant who has led significant social policy projects across NSW, particularly around Aboriginal Affairs. He is passionate about equity, access and inclusion for all young people.

    My next guest is someone I’ve had the privilege of growing up with from my childhood, through to adulthood. Karlie Stewart is a deadly young woman that I’ve looked up to for so many reasons. I've admired her ability to overcome any obstacle that is put in front of her, her ability to be a leader for her community, her amazing talent as an artist and so much more! Tune in and hear us yarn about our experiences growing up and the things we appreciate most looking back. About Karlie Stewart  Karlie is a Wandi Wandian Woman from Yuin Country on the South Coast of New South Wales. She lived in Nowra throughout her childhood and spent time around the Nowra, Wreck Bay and Jerrinja Aboriginal communities with her family. Since 10 years old, Karlie has lived on Bidjigal land, South East Sydney, where we grew up together. In early 2019, Karlie graduated with an Honours in Social Work from the University of New South Wales and has since worked at Weave Youth & Community Services in many roles, and most recently employed as their Aboriginal Healing Program Manager . Karlie has also been a member of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Healing Foundations' Interim Youth Advisory Group, and currently sits on the executive committee of Just Reinvest NSW.

    In this episode I interview legendary sportsman Adam Goodes. Born in South Australia, a proud Andyamathanha/Narungga man. He was drafted by the Sydney Swans and had an AFL career spanning over seventeen seasons, retiring in September 2015. Adam was named Australian of the Year in recognition of his community work aimed at empowering the next generation of Indigenous role models as well as his advocacy in the fight against racism. Adam is someone I have admired since I was little kid. I've always looked up to him and all that he stands for.

Know Role Models is a podcast creating space for connection, reflection and healing.  ABOUT THE HOST Kobie Dee is a 24 year old proud Gomeroi man, that grew up on Bidjigal Land in South East Sydney. Kobie Dee is one of the most exciting new voices in Australian HipHop, with an innate gift for storytelling and connecting with young people. The rap artist was signed to Bad Apples Music in 2019 and has performed alongside artists including Briggs, Jessica Mauboy, Nooky and Barkaa as part of Yabun, Sydney Festival and at the Bad Apples House Party at the Sydney Opera House.  As an artist, Kobie is deeply engaged in his community through performance and community work, and his passion for his culture and people is inspiring new generations.
