    Korach’s Rebellion
    With Rabbi Ari Sollish
(Recorded live in Atlanta on December 1, 2020)

The story of Korach's rebellion against the leadership of Moses addresses a number of fundamental questions on the variety of paths we follow through life. If every individual has a direct relationship with G-d, why are there “hierarchies of holiness” in the communal structure established by the Torah? If the purpose of Creation lies in the sanctification of physical life, why is the spiritual deemed “higher” than the material? What determines when our differences devolve into conflict, and when they become the ingredients of harmony?

Learning How to Love - Part 48
    "Fire"
    With Rabbi Ari Sollish
(Recorded live in Atlanta on November 29, 2020)

Fire is one of the most magical elements on earth. It is of nature, but beyond nature. The nature of fire is radically different from the natures of all other forms of existence; whereas theirs is to solidify their existence, fire's nature is to undo its own existence.

It should come as no surprise, then, that the most spiritual entities are likened to fire -- starting with the Torah. The Talmud adds fire to fire when it describes Torah thus: The Torah given to Moses was written with black fire upon white fire, sealed with fire, and swathed with bands of fire.

Two fires. Black fire. White fire. What does it mean? What does it tell us about Torah and the life purpose Torah communicates?

In this special holiday edition of Kabbalah & Coffee, we explore what the Kabbalists teach us about fire and the duel, fiery nature of Torah.

Great Podcast..... BUT......

I would happily give this podcast 5/5 Stars IF the audio from the “readers” was better of quality..... It is impossible to clearly hear them, if at all, and this problem really distracts from the overall quality of the presentation. This issue would be an “easy fix” if the speaker simply preselected the readers and had them walk to a microphone while sharing the text; if a designated individual passed around a wireless microphone (Phil Donoghue style) to each reader for their turn; if the readings were available in the show notes, etc. Thanks for considering my feedback.
