Where did it all go wrong

Where did it all go wrong

This week’s episode we had the fabulous Meghan Ely, a PR and public relations expert and long-time royal fan on to discuss the last month of PR blunders from KP.
Not only did we dig deep on how KP lost the plot, but had some confessions about H&M’s own comms blunders. As Tamra Judge would say: IT’S MY OPINION.
This was pre Kate announcing she has cancer, so we don’t discuss that topic in this episode- nor regret anything said.

This weeks episode we covered the phenomenon that was the internet and American presses reaction to Kate Middleton’s two months (and counting) absence from public life. We got memes. We got conspiracy theories. We got write-ups. We got an annoyed Press Secretary reacting. Friends briefing Tom Sykes. All in all, the usual, with a sprinkle of the unusual.
For some reason the computer picked up the wrong audio for Amanda, so her audio isn’t as clean as it usually is. So please forgive us, and hopefully, still enjoy!

    MENTION IT ALL 👏🏽

    MENTION IT ALL 👏🏽

Dog food 👏🏽 Health Scares 👏🏽 Podcast 👏🏽 Titles. Royal Watching has not let up with stories to discuss and dissect. Like Harry’s 26 hours in the UK to visit his father. A choice we think has everything to do with wanting to see his father after getting devastating news, ALONG, with a very smart power-play when it comes to his own work.
We got health updates that some were on the ‘up and up’, while others are, well, not. And what that could mean for the monarchy and the people in it.

’Will the past be a shadow that will follow us 'round?
Will these memories fade when I leave this town?’
Queue Vitamin D’s middle school graduation anthem, ‘Graduation’, for a 2023 send-off. We saw titles dropped for new and improved ones. BRF White saviorship combatting those pesky memories of colonization their name-sakes created and enabled.
Royal fashion that gave everything from angelic to linebacker, and some Royal MVP’s who are advocating for real change, and one for just being a cutie.

Do you owe the British Royal Family an apology?

Do you owe the British Royal Family an apology?

In this episode Amanda and I breakdown the hysterical headlines behind Endgame. With a Banana’s article influenced by the Translation Travesty of 2023.
The onslaught of, ‘it’s worst to be named a racist, rather than be one’, narrative being tossed around by royal rota media outlets, and morning talk shows, that lambasted the aftermath of the (alleged) royals who showed concerned about Archie’s skin-tone.
Plus, one of my favorite things; Amanda doing a deep-dive on royal history that is relevant today.

Like it

Really like the non-biased talk about the British royals, but Alex I can’t hear your guest speak with all the giggles and laughs.
Looking forward to more.

Insensitive idiots

Airing this episode after Catherine’s diagnosis is insensitive on another level. Unsubscribed and unfollowed.

Lovely progressive royal watching podcast

It’s so wonderful to see people who follow the British royal family who take colonialism and the continuation of bigotry and corruption in the family seriously while also having a sense of humor and enjoying the fashion and history of it all. I really like how current cohost Amanda uses her art history degree, past cohost Meredith her communications background and Alex being the creative genius behind the whole podcast . Their understanding of history and colonialism makes me unsurprised but so happy their support for Palestine but I deeply appreciate it. Their podcast has been so useful in helping me explain non sensational elements of the royal family to friends and family. I really enjoy their feminist lens on the royal watching and not being sycophants for anyone in the family including Meghan and Harry while enjoying the gossip and history and art/fashion.
