I’ve been listening to this podcast since March 2023. The two of you can basically be credited with shepherding humanity gradually into a new era.
Because my wife has a podcast too, I’ve seen how over time the genre has become much less authentic and advertising has taken over the space as large scale podcast backers are also inserting themselves. You guys have protected your credibility throughout this whole time. You discussed politics in subtle ways while not revealing yourselves to have any obvious cognitive biases.
In the early days, you guys were focused on extinction risk, and I think it was good to start in that space. For a while, the competition between businesses drove your conversation, and you provided excellent unbiased coverage. Now that AI is developing transformative capacities, I’m hearing both far future thinking. Along with an incredibly solid understanding of the mechanics here that anchor these ideas to reality, I cannot tell you how valuable this has been in my life as I try to navigate something humanity will likely experience only once as a father, a worker, a human.
The naysayers are largely missing the forest for the trees. An authentic voice in this space is worth its weight gold.
