Laughter and Libations

Shawneille Campbell-Dunbar

The Laughter and Libations Podcast is about the intentional pursuit of joy. I'm challenging myself to be courageous and share my stories as I shake, stir, strain, steep, brew, and mix up my favorite libations and laugh my way into a more joyful life. I’ll share experiences that highlight self-care, self-discovery, laughter, and anything that can be a catalyst for increasing joy.  Shawneille Campbell-Dunbar Creator and Host

Episode 125: Laughing Matters (June 2026)

Text comments and questions here! I say, "Nothing is too small to celebrate." I've said this over and over. In this episode, I wonder about something big--an entire lifetime. How do you celebrate a someone's entire life? That's what we try to do, particularly when we lose a loved one.  In this episode, I talk about loved ones who have completed their journey here. My father, Larry Campbell, and my great aunt, Mrs. Doris Roberts James, are on my mind a lot, and I share a little about my experiences. May it be helpful to anyone who is coping with the loss of a loved one. There is laughter, too. Listen to this month's rants. Everything happens on June 13, 2026, the hottest day so far this year in Savannah, Georgia!  Laughing Matters features the end-of-the-month highlights and usually includes four segments: celebrations, libation of the month, rants, and questions and answers. Celebrations are about intentionally forming a habit of noticing and acknowledging the good within and around you. Libation of the month is based on whatever I fancy or feel inspired by at the time. I share step-by-step instructions and you can mix right along with me. Rants or stories are about anything I find funny and want to share. Ask me a question. It might be featured in a future episode.Libation of the Month: Yuzu Margarita Recipe from streetsmartnutrition.com 1.0 oz Yuzu.5 oz Fresh Lime Juice1.0 oz Cointreau1.5 oz Tequila1.0 Agave SyrupServe in a rocks glassGarnish with a lime wedgeMentions:  Collins Quarter (Savannah, Georgia)Connect with Me:  Subscribe * Follow * Rate * Comment See me on Instagram Reach out on Bluesky @laughingnotesEmail me at laughsandlibs@gmail.comVisit laughterandlibations.com

Episode 122: Laughing Matters (April 2026)

Text comments and questions here! This time in my life is really hard. I still struggle to find the words to describe this. I'm a writer. Yet, I fail to find the words for this. In the meantime, I continue forward in ways that I can. Perhaps you are facing something that's hard, too. If you are, this episode is for you.  When life gets hard or when life sucks, I know I'm at a crossroad. I know I have to choose the path I take and how I proceed. So, I'm choosing gratitude. I'm choosing to laugh. I'm choosing joy. It's not easy to do every day. Still, I try. I encourage you to do the same. Episode 121: Laughing Matters (March 2026)

Text comments and questions here! Spring is the perfect time to let go of things you don't need anymore. What are you ready to let go of right now? Is it something tangible or intangible? Will you do it quickly or will you need a lengthy process? I decided to focus on something easy, and I reached out for a little help from mom. I thought I was ready. I wasn't! Who knew that decluttering with mom would be so brutal, funny, and effective?  If you love gin, you're in luck. You must try this month's libation! If you want to know if there will be guests on future episodes, keep listening! Episode 119: Laughing Matters (January 2026)

Text comments and questions here! Welcome to Season 6! I'm thrilled to continue this journey to increase laughter and joy in my life and in yours. I hope you laugh every time you listen, even when life seems too hard.   This month has been some kind of something! I was sick for a few days and lately, I've been a bit anxious about these winter weather conditions. I feel like I've been tested, and I think I passed. I found levity in these experiences. You can find levity in challenging experiences, too.  It's January, a time for beginnings. I want to my relationships to have a fresh and bright start (or refresh if needed). So, I share what I won't be doing in 2026! I'm tickled just thinking about it. I touch on three things: wings, brunch, and theme parties. Listen and let me know if you can relate and share what's on your list.  I can't wait to learn what you're not doing in 2026!
