I'm a black and white American girl living in China. Daily life is literally an adventure (whether I want it to be or not). Whether speaking in English or in Chinese, my mouth sometimes gets me into trouble and sometimes facilitates those adventures. I've wanted to broadcast for the longest time, so here goes. This is my first shot, just for fun. I want to share the highlights and snippets of my experiences here and what I've learned.

    Ain't I a Woman?

    Sojourner Truth asked the question, "Ain't I a woman?" to white women rallying for equal rights. As a black woman in Asia, I find myself asking this same question when I am not given the same respect as other women. Failure to recognize black women as women is dehumanizing, and dehumanization damages everyone involved.

    This episode is more or less an experiment in podcasting. If I wait to make a perfect episode, it'll never be made. Listen if you're an intermediate Chinese language learner or are curious about an expat's life abroad. I usually have more interesting experiences than this one.
