Lawful & Orderly is a lighthearted fantasy police procedural. We use Dungeons and Dragons 5th edition to bring the residents of Lan Arcanym to life. The High Guard can catch the crooks, but it takes you, the jury, to vote for conviction.

S04E08 - A Brush with Death, part 2
Tensions are on the rise at Lan Arcanym School for the Arts as some high profile students have gone missing — both from campus and from any paintings they appeared in. Former High Guard officers (now unpaid High Guard "consultants") Alo Seda and Illyn Brownfeet must solve the case quietly. But that may prove difficult, as they've been forced to team up with inventor Wilroth "Click" Gnarin to field test his latest crime-investigating gadget. Will this clunking machine help them find the missing students before their parents (or wealthy donors) notice? Will they restore honor to (and their jobs in) the High Guard?

Alo Seda and Illyn Brownfeet parted ways when their High Guard unit disbanded and have been struggling to make ends meet. Sudden hope appears when a summons arrives from their former chief promising a return to law enforcement — a missing persons case at the local university. The catch? They must field test a new investigative gadget and its inventor, gnome tinkerer Wilroth "Click" Gnarin, will be along for the ride.

News of a bank robbery leads to fears that our heroes' detective agency may be insolvent! Will their reckless chase get them caught between a rock and a hard place?

Thankfully Aaron has help in the form of "Surprise Apprentice" Marky Hallsy, a young halfling with a desperate desire to join the High Guard.

A mysterious and "VERY wealthy" man who "likes living" hires former High Guard officers Illyn Brownfeet and Aaron Twillson to get to the bottom of a "very very scary" death threat. As if the stakes weren't high enough, he also has "a girl coming over". They'll have to team up with his "Love Counselor" Jam E. Dojhur to ensure that no one gets hurt, physically or emotionally!

Love this show!
Lawful & Orderly is my favorite podcast! I am a huge fan of author P. G. Wodehouse, and I loved the nod to one of his sillier characters in the recent podcasts. Also loved the references to the literary device a McGuffin and the Addams Family. This podcast resonates with me on so many levels. Keep up the great work!!

It's all the fun you'd expect of a police procedural set in a quirky fantasy universe. The team dives headlong into mysterious mysteries and nefarious... nefariousnesses? Anyways, it's a lot of fun to listen to and takes a playful look at the tropes you'd expect from both genres, mashes them together, adds improv comedy and some good old fashioned dice-rolling for flavor. Definitely worth the listen.
