Victorious Ones, this special episode of Layers with Laiah™ carries a prophetic word for the crossing over into the new year, 5787: The East Wind Is Blowing. For the last few months, I have continued to hear these words in my spirit: “The East Wind is blowing.” As I sought the Lord concerning this new season, He brought me to Exodus 14, where a strong east wind blew all night, divided the Red Sea, and created a pathway of deliverance for the children of Israel. And therein lies the heart of this prophetic word: While Israel was waiting, the wind was working. Before they could see the pathway, God was working. While it was still dark, God was working. While Pharaoh was behind them and an impossible sea stood before them, God was working. And I believe that is a word for somebody entering this new year: just because you cannot see what God is doing does not mean God is not working. In this episode, we explore the biblical imagery of the East Wind as a picture of divine intervention, deliverance, separation, judgment, transition, and supernatural movement. We also examine what it means to make our “calling and election sure” according to 2 Peter 1:10, as we prepare for what I believe will be a season requiring clarity of identity and courageous obedience. I believe there is a new cadence, a new pace, a new song, and new direction being established. Some cycles cannot cross this sea. Some patterns cannot cross this sea. Some fears cannot cross this sea. Some things that pursued you through previous seasons cannot follow you where God is taking you next. And perhaps the greatest revelation is this: you don’t need the sea to disappear; you need God to make a way through it. So as we cross over, we are releasing Egypt. We are facing the sea. We are listening for divine instruction. And when God says, “Go forward,” we are moving. My prayer over every Victorious One listening is that 5787 will be a sweet, fruitful, peaceful, prosperous, and God-ordained year, a year of beautiful endings, new beginnings, undeniable purpose, supernatural provision, courageous obedience, and pathways that only God could create. The night may be dark, but the wind is working.The sea may still be standing, but the wind is working.The pathway may not yet be visible, but the wind is working. Victorious Ones, the East Wind is blowing. It’s time to go forward.
