40 - Lina Ticheli: Parenting Neurodivergent Children

Lina through her practice Show Up Psychology supports children, teens and adults navigating neurodivergence. We explore neurodivergence across all life stages including late diagnosis particularly in females and why labels can be helpful despite stigma. She breaks down the shift toward neurodiversity affirming practice focusing on identity, accommodations and adapting environments rather than forcing neurotypical behaviour. The conversation dives into parenting and family dynamics including unlearning discipline styles, emotional regulation, repair and more collaborative relationships. Lina also explains PDA (Pathological Demand Avoidance) as an anxiety driven autism profile often misunderstood as defiance and shares practical approaches built on rapport, safety and co regulation. We talk about diagnosis waitlists, NDIS challenges, workplace flexibility and the importance of parent self-care. 🎧Spotify – YouTube – Apple https://www.highpl.com.au/podcast Show Up Phycology https://showuppsychology.com.au/ Ross Greene Pathological Demand Avoidance Spoon Theory High Performance Leaders Whether you're building a stronger team, developing leaders, or navigating a critical period — we’ve got you covered. - 1:1 Leadership Coaching - Team Workshops & Custom Training - Operational Leadership Support - Development for Leaders at All Levels If you're ready to lift performance, culture, and accountability. 👉 Contact Daniel: https://www.highpl.com.au/

38 – Contact Sport at 44: Why Compete When You’re Too Old?

At nearly 44 years old, I’m preparing for my 33rd season of Rugby League. Not in a master’s or social comp, but in a full-contact, open-age first grade competition against players in their teens, 20s and 30s. This episode breaks down the reality of continuing to compete at that level. Not just physically, but mentally and logistically, while balancing family, business and life. There’s a bit on the training preparation required and recovery, but more importantly this is about challenging the stigma around playing sport in your 30s and 40s and asking a simple question…why stop if you’re still able? I dive into the benefits of team sport beyond fitness, accountability, discipline, connection and being part of something bigger than yourself. It also touches on mental health, purpose, leadership and the importance of role modelling for your kids. Showing through actions, not words, that you’re never too old to keep competing, improving and getting after it. 🎧Spotify – YouTube - Apple https://www.highpl.com.au/podcast High Performance Leaders Whether you're building a stronger team, developing leaders, or navigating a critical period — we’ve got you covered. -         1:1 Leadership Coaching -         Team Workshops & Custom Training -         Operational Leadership Support -         Development for Leaders at All Levels If you're ready to lift performance, culture, andaccountability. 👉Contact Daniel: https://www.highpl.com.au/

36 – Ret Hartley: When the Business Collapses but The Man Doesn’t

Ret reflects on a turbulent 12 months that saw him living in Bali, surviving a serious scooter accident, navigating co-parenting his young daughter and facing the collapse of his fitness business, S30. S30 grew to 27 locations across Australia, New Zealand and Singapore before entering administration and liquidation, a rise and fall that delivered hard-earned lessons in leadership, ownership and resilience. With 15 years in the fitness industry, Ret shares his journey from New Zealand to personal training in Melbourne, then building franchises in Perth through F45. He details the critical role that community, culture and well-designed systems played in that time. Ret is now building Daawg Haus, an online platform grounded in structured training, strong personal standards and brotherhood. Its mission is simple: help men lead themselves better, so they can lead their families, careers and lives with strength, presence and integrity. 🎧Spotify – YouTube - Apple https://www.highpl.com.au/podcast Daawg Haus https://www.instagram.com/daawg.haus/ Ret Hartley https://www.instagram.com/ret_hartley/ High Performance Leaders Whether you're building a stronger team, developing leaders, or navigating a critical period — we’ve got you covered. -         1:1 Leadership Coaching -         Team Workshops & Custom Training -         Operational Leadership Support -         Development for Leaders at All Levels If you're ready to lift performance, culture, andaccountability. 👉 Contact Daniel: https://www.highpl.com.au/
